    new guy from texas
    hey everyone.

I'm justin. I'm planning for my first BP. A few of my friends have normals and I've always wanted one, but could never talk the wife into it. After 8 years she finally said yes.

I belong to a few reef tank forums and have always found great info on them. I started searching around for a BP forum and found you guys. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a morph until I saw them on this site. I was blown away. I had seen an albino once at a reptile show in Lewisville TX, but that was it.

Now I'm saving $$$ and doing as much research as I can. I'm hoping for a male spider by August or so. Had to make a deal with the wife I would not spend more than $250-$300. I originally wanted an albino, but they are still a little out of my reach money wise. She's put up with all my other expensive hobbies for years and wanted to make sure this wasn't another one. (10k on reef tanks and 10k on guitars and music stuff)

I hope to learn as much as possible and thank everyone for sharing all the info and wisdom they have to offer.

Welcome! Realize that if you want a morph (or spider) in about a month or two many breeders will have all their babies up for sale for this season. They will all mostly be online, and I don't recommend a pet store ball. D: So either get one shipped or Texas breeder. :]

Enjoy your time around this forum!

Never let it be said I'm not an enabler!

Have fun, maybe grab a bib (don't want you to drool on yourself), grab a drink (we don't want you dehydrating) - you are about to drool....

That's just a taste of what's possible with these snakes.

You're coming into this at a good time of year. There should be some great hatchlings available very soon from reputable sources. When it comes to morphs (really any snake) you want to work with a breeder, big or small, that you feel comfortable with and you trust. There are some scammers out there so take your time and get to know who is who before you spend your cash.

Enjoy your membership here. You've got some time to sort out things before you get your new snake so that's always great for you and your snake. Please don't hesitate to ask questions and if you have any problems, contact a Mod (names in green) or an Admin (names in red) for help. :)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys. I really appreciate it.

thanks for the links franky. i'm seriously thinking about selling off some of my guitar equipment for some of these morphs. I don't really need a Ampeg bass stack anyway right?? I thought I had a good idea of what I wanted, but now I'm just in shock. :sweeet:

    Thanks again everyone!

(and bugger...I looked at the available page and now I'm dying to get one of their red striped bloods.... :stupidme:)
