Snip Snip

Well yesterday was a pretty exciting day http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...d=69523&page=1 and today is not bad either.

Finally after 52 long days I decided to cut my eggs here are some pics (which I will update as the babies come out)

If you think raising up your snakes takes long time wait till they have eggs and you have to wait and wait and wait once you put them in the incubator. ;)

Actually it doesn't, I am having too much fun right now taking some cool pics and just enjoying seeing my first babies.

Baby snake in egg goo question: How do they breathe? I assume they're getting nutrients from the yolk, oxygen from the blood...or am I wrong? Is the urge to use that ol' egg tooth a need to break through the egg goo and breathe or...what's the transition? Do they still have egg goo in their itty bitty noses?

In that last picture - is that the egg tooth? Very cool! I'm contemplating cutting tonight, or waiting until Saturday on mine (Day 51 today). I'd cut today if I knew they'd all come out of the eggs before I leave.

I planned to take two clutches with me so I wouldn't miss their hatching (the other clutch is Day 52 on Saturday).

Well they are here, 50% Possible het pied, sadly no female :(, so I am crossing my fingers hoping the second cluth will be ALL girls.

Hard to take a pic of the whole group as they would not hold in place :rolleyes: (except for one)

Aww Deb - I'm so sorry about those odds - seems like Ed's curse of all males for me didn't hit the correct mark!

Awww Deb, I'm sorry about the odds. They are all lovely though and congrats on the 100% hatch. :)

Even though I wish I had a female or two I am just happy that my very first clutch is composed of some nice healthy fatty (between 69 and 78 grams) babies.

And there is still clutch 2 and 3 and maybe even a fourth one this year, so I can’t complain for my first year.

Females... she-males... oops, that came out wrong. Let me try again.

Females... shemables.... that's better. (was supposed to sound like that thing my grandpa used to do... i.e. Toaster... Schmoaster)

Regardless you have a great clutch of healthy babes... couldn't be happier for you. You are going to have a blast going those fat butts eating and shedding and looking HOT! :)

Second clutch is hatching and so far 1 female out of 3 babies, (one is still in the egg)

I guess Ed's curse hit the wrong address in GA :rolleyes:

So this time you timed them in knots to get them to hold still for the pics? :)

They look super cute... I thought baby bps would be cute, but they truly are better than imagined.

Will be looking fwd to pics of babies with full bellies next! :)
