yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
I keep hearing the definitive on pastels is green eyes.
My boy Zoltan has... I can never quite nail it down. Metallic yellow(?) eyes.
Anyone else have a pastel that is bucking the system?
Bruce
I tried to find a few pics that show his eyes, but he is a very shifty snake and a hard one to photograph. And the colors are always hard for me to capture as well... limitations on my skills, not reflective of the real color of his eyes. :)

I'd call those green, from what I can see.;)

One of my Pastels has silvery eyes and the Graziani has green.

I know... as I said the pics are hard to catch. Zoltan is one of those roving BPs. I will try for better pics, but I can assure you, his eyes are yellow, not green.

nice pastel but are you color blind? just curious

Re: yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
Littlebit hard to see on this picture but I think its green from here.
Re: yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
I don't have a pastel, so I can't compare eye colors.....but I can say that regardless what color the eyes are, that is one smokin' beauty! :D

Thanks becky, just wanted to hear that someone else had something besides green.

Thanks for your concern, but no... I am not colorblind, as if I was I would see something closer to brown, or even aqua instead of the green.
But thanks for the inquiry. Very thoughtful of you.

I took the last two pics last night. I need to try again when I have someone to hold him still. I think natural light might work better.

:) Thanks. I am pretty happy with him. He has a fantastic temperment to match. Just overall a really great snake.

Re: yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
both my adult lemons started with dark green eyes then as they matured they lightned to yellowish/green.have fun !
Re: yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
I have two pastels, both are sub-adults, and I would call both of their eyes a very pale yellow-green color. If no one had told me that pastel eyes were supposed to be green, I would have probably labeled them an off-yellow.

Great pics... any chance you remember how you lit them? Or were they just random house lighting regular pics?

Re: yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
Those were all taken outside on a sunny day, so it is natural light. It was also bright outside that day so I didn't use a flash. If you like, I can try and find some indoor pics that show their eyes as well.
Re: yellow eyes on pastels... always... not.
Pastel eyes are indeed variable -- but the color is for all intents and purposes green. You'll also notice slight changes in color as they age and the color of the background you have them on, lighting, etc.
But in the long run -- it's all green. :D
