    Trent Eats a Pinky Rat
I'll be the first to admit that this isn't the most exciting video ever made, hahaha... but here is Trent my blackthroat eating a pinky rat. Don't mind the reflection of my husky in the glass. :P

Warning: Content is somewhat graphic, especially if you like cute little baby rats.

Pat, it is indeed cypress mulch. I've used cypress, aspen, and a peat moss/play sand mix. I like the look of the cypress the best, and it doesn't get all over Trent making him real dirty and dull looking like the peat moss did. I'm not sure how well it is for poop cleaning yet. This is the first time I've used it for him now that he's a little larger, and the only poop he's taken has been directly on the fake leaves... damn lizard.

Hmm, I may have to give that a try. The only reason why I have dirt is cause he looooves to burrow. I buried a bunch of sticks and climby things in the dirt and he uncovers all of it just to burrow underneath.

But I do really like the look of that cypress....decisions.

Yeah they do have a strong burrowing instinct, which is why I tried the peat moss mixed with some sand. He dirtied up everything with the stuff though, including himself and his water dish... maybe I'm being selfish for using the cypress but I think he'll survive. =P
