Matt Hughes ran into a better fighter. Alves was just too strong.

Agreed. Maybe hughes just did it for the paycheck. He definitely looked more like a fighter living off his own legacy than he did a fighter who was hungry for a win.
I like Bisping's accent, but I'm always disappointed when he wins because it inflates his ego even more.
Overall, a pretty boring UFC.

let him inflate his ego. the higher the go, the harder they fall. he will be humbled soon enough.

Re: Ufc 85
is it just me or does thiago alves looks GHed out! i know the ufc is really strict on the roid tests but they cant test an athlete for GH. i mean, look at his forehead and his gap-tooth. but still a good fighter.

nice! i was an active member of bakbakan international here. but the chief instructor left for san diego. we concentrate on knife fighting and arnis stick fighting. but i was more into kickboxing and muay thai. i have some friends in the carlson gracie chapter here, so i sometimes roll with them. but i can only hang with the blue belts.and they usually get to tap me out. hahaha

he didnt make weight? i see. i didnt know that.
hmm..ive been bodybuilding for almost 7 years now. and i know for a fact that you can get a body like thiago alves without using perfomance enchancers no matter how genetically gifted you are. seperation and some mass and to think that he is a fighter. he kinda looks like vitor belfort-ish. did you see his forehead? kinda looks like dexter jackson's.
if didnt use anything, he would look more like a randy couture body type. cut but no mass and the delts and traps wont pop out like that.

I'm not a big fan of Hughes. If you go back and watch his fight agaisnt GSP you can see that he's lost the "light" to fight. I was surprised to see him fighting again. He just isn't the fighter he used to be. Now I'd like to see GSP fight Alves.
