Sausage Snake
Otherwise known as my slightly deformed Spider female ;) And yes, she's as cute as she looks.
Her problems include; having a kink in her neck behind her head, resulting in a half-as-long-as-supposed-to-be neck, a shortened lower jaw which is triangular in appearance and a shortened tongue, which only sticks out as far as the two forks. Other than her disabilities, she eats like no tomorrow, sheds very regularly, and grows.. The growing seems to be going in a sideways direction, fat lardy thing. Her length isn't doing a whole lot.

If this is the spider I am thinking it is(hehe tim,:P), she was born that way. Becky, I imagine she will be a pet, but are you gunna breed her? She's so pretty!

Re: Sausage Snake
No, she's not from Tim. She's a BHB baby from Daytona. When she was a hatchling, and alot thinner, it wasn't noticeable. Now, the deformities really show and you can feel the kink in her neck.
The general concensus was egg stress, and if she gets up to size without any problems, then I may breed her. She does everything normally, and looks like a little bull dog when she constricts her prey. I guess the shorter neck gives her an advantage ;)
She may grow out of it, she may not, but she's not going anywhere. I'm feeding everyone tonight so I'll see if I can get a shot of her constricting. She's on large mice now, and generally wants a second or my arm..

Re: Sausage Snake
She is really gorgeous!! I'd breed her in a heart beat and cross fingers it was just egg stress.... What a beauty!!

Re: Sausage Snake

Re: Sausage Snake
no matter what she is a HOT spider! Explain what egg stress is if you could?

Re: Sausage Snake
She's one of the nicest spiders I've seen. I love how clean and smooth her coloration is.

Re: Sausage Snake
If that's not the same spider, then what happened to time little spider named grace!? Good luck with that little spitfire becky!

Re: Sausage Snake
i almost like it more she looka like a snausage lol

Re: Sausage Snake
I don't know what Tim has planned for her ;) She's not coming to Camp Becky though, I know that for sure.
I think egg stress can be anything from being too dry, too wet, fluctuating temps.. I honestly don't know as I'm not that experienced(two breeding seasons under my belt). It can cause kinks, malformations, some think Classic Jungles are produced from egg stress..
Thanks Justin, she's not too much of a spitfire unless mice are involved, LOL. Very easy going snake who just cruises when you have her out. I definitely don't regret ever getting her, little bulldog snake.

Re: Sausage Snake
Deformities aren't anything an animal can "acquire" unless it's a congenital or degenerative deformity that worsens over time(ie spina bifida or degenerative arthritis). It's not a disease.
What my spider has is something she acquired while in the egg. It happens.
