Ball Room

Here's my herp room, 14'x8', I have WAY too much empty space. Luckily, my snakes are outgrowing their 15qt tubs, and need to be upgraded so I'll have to order a few more 32qt. racks.

I use the oil filled heater on a Ranco to keep the room a constant 84F. For lighting I have two dome lights suspended in the room set on timers.

Very nice. Empty space is bad in a ball room.:D

I understand that! I have 5 different hopefulls, then there offspring...lol. And I have only 2 spots on the rack left...LOL!

See those red tags, those are the girls I'm waiting on laying, 3 of the 4 have had their POS. Should be soon...fingers crossed! Then ~55 days from then...that white rack will be full.:D

That's intense! I'm having trouble convincing my girlfriend that having 1 will be safe - she'd flip out if I said I wanted shelving units filled with snakes.

Gah...23 is nothing. Its not NOT safe. My biggest female is only 5.5ft and she's a big puppy!

Its those hatchlings you have to watch out for, I have some that are devils. Who am I to complain, If a guy that looked like me was trying to pick me up I'd try to throw down too.:8:

Thats alot of red tags! Well not really, but whatever. I notice the 8ball cards, I gots me one. What are they? My 8 ball will breed next year hopefully.

Yeah, I'm hoping she will. She doesn't currently live with me, but my lease is up at the end of the year and her and I are getting a place together. When I told her about wanting a BP, she said I couldn't have it at our place.

I'm getting one and hopefully she'll like it over the next 6 months and be cool with everything.

I'd be happy if I got a single clutch. My 8ballpythons include, Lemon Pastel female, VPI Pastel Male, Lesser Platinum Male, Hypo Male, 1.2 100% Het Hypo.

The female lemon pastel had her POS about two weeks ago, fingers crossed on that clutch.

Looking good man! Gotta fill that place up so you can't even walk in there! I have so much space in my snake room. I'm planning on filling it up to the ceiling!

Hoping for super pastels! Or het hypo pastels. Adam has the best hypos and lessers, WHEN I get hypos and lessers, they will be from adam.

Hoping for Pewters, cinnies, pastels, and normals...unless the lesser took...then Pastel Lessers, Lessers, Pastels, Normals.

My hypo projects should be ready to go this next season. I will likely try to prove my spider ph hypo with one het female, and just make some hypos with my hypo male to the other het female. I need more het hypo females...haha

Adam does definitely have nice lessers and hypos, can't go wrong there. My hypo is a mean bastage, but eats like a champ.

One day I am going to turn my shed into a room just like that!

The room looks good, if a little empty, but I don't see that being a problem for long. ;)

Nice! Sure beats the crap outta my ball closet;)

Thanks Drew, on that white dorm fridge (incubator) I use a Herpstat, I wanted to try it out, and I like it a lot. Otherwise I use a Helix for the other racks.

Fingers are still crossed on those females, I've been gone so much lately that I didn't really see any ovulations, but I caught the tail end of my pastel female's ov.:please:

room looks good, just enough space to add more. okay, now I have ball room envy.. :rolleyes: ::sigh:: I only have a ball corner... and even that was touch and go with the hubby cause he didn't want a rack system in the livingroom. wait til he finds out I'm getting two more adult racks, and one 16 tub hatchling rack over the next 18 months :rolleyes2: guess I'll be posting that argument when the time comes :P

Just to comment on Stangs reply. I could only laugh at that, because I am completely out of room, and have to build another room now. Empty space is only bad when you are filling it up, but once it is full, you will pray for empty space. Perspective definitely plays a role.

Thanks Tim! Means a lot coming from you. I don't really ever plan on becoming a medium/larger scale breeding operation, but it is nice having room/s devoted to the animals. I hope your expansion goes smoothly!

I like space to work, and couldn't stand a cramped room. Although I do like having the space for caging if I venture out into other larger species of snakes.

yeah, thats pretty much how it works lol. actually I got one rack, rearranged the furniture in the livingroom so that the rack is in a corner and can be hidden by a curtain when company comes over, yet easity accessible to me. once the rack was there and I showed him what I had done, he didn't say anything except give me that look, shook his head and walked away. He'll probably do the same thing when the other racks arrive..... :rofl:

Simple solution tim! Send me(stangs) a cb 70 rack(your homemade one) and enough females( normals pastels and spiders in any order)to fill the rack and a box full of very very interesting female rats( blues, dumbos, fawns,etc) simple enough?! I'll be over Saturday to pick it all up.:D

Just so long as all of you truck drivers don't show up at the same time. We live on a quiet stree, and I don't want a big line of trucks on our property. So as long as you guys can schedule amongst yourselves, we'll accomadate as many as possible.
