fedex nightmare!! help!!

i posted this on another forum....but ill post it here too....has anyone else had a fedex shipping nightmare??

i ordered a snake from a friend of mine online and he shipped it via fedex. it was supposed to be delivered to my door this morning. ive been awake all morning waiting for this delivery, i called fedex and they say they left it at the front door this morning at 9:47am. ive been up since 8am waiting for this package, we have a small apartment, there is no way we would have missed the driver if he had knocked. there is no note anywhere from the driver, and i have gone outside numerous times throughout the morning looking for any sign of the package, but nothing.

idk what to do im in tears, ive gone to all the other apartments looking for my box in case he delievered it to the wrong apartment complex, i called the dumb police and they arent gonna do anything, im at a loss :( i just spent hundreds of dollars on a beautiful 08 poss super hypo that i have wanted for months now, i just dont know what to do :(

Contact Fedex again and have them give you the number to the distribution center. You should be able to talk to the supervisor who could talk to the driver or put you in contact with him directly.

...OMG! I am so sorry, I dont know how to help besides praying! I will pray for you and your snake. I couldnt imagine going thru that! Good luck! :please:

Have you contacted the breeder? Do you have the tracking number? Does the tracking number indicate that it was left at your door?

Check with your apartment office. A gecko that I sent once apparently got left at the wrong apartment and ended up at the apartment office. Also check in front of nearby apartments - Up a floor, down a floor etc. - looks like you may have done that already. I hope you find it soon!

Yes, you should be able to get in touch with the driver directly. Ask him who signed for it etc...

Never been there, but I'd suggest the following:

1) - Contact the breeder. Find out what the box looks like, color size, etc., so you know what you are looking for.

2) - Contact Fedex again. Talk to the driver directly and find out exactly what was done with your package. I once "lost" a package because the driver that left it tried to prevent it from being stolen by putting it in a less obvious place.

3) - Contact your apartment offices.

4) - Start going door to door.

ok i got great news!! the driver had left it at another complex at someone elses apartment. luckily no one had taken it, the box said "live reptile" on it, thank god no one took it!! he met us downstairs and apologized, i was just so grateful to get my baby i thanked him several times and gave him a hug LOL. the baby is alive and well and calm for being in a small shipping box for almost a day now :)

IM SO RELIEVED!! i was panicked and frantic trying to find this little box that she came in. we climbed up and down stairs at all the apartment buildings and drove to the diff apartment complexes asking their offices if they have gotten our box...i was about to start posting ads online trying to find the snake, we thought it had gotten stolen after it was left at "our" doorstep.

Now, whenever you get sent shipments of live animals, ALWAYS ask for a signature upon delivery. ;) Good looking boa.

thanks for all your nice comments!! i was completely panicked, freaking out, bawling my eyes out... i made a HUGE fuss over this with fedex, lol, i think thats why this issue was resolved so quickly and the driver came over and found the box even after he was off-duty for the day. i was calling fedex several times, each time crying, i told the lady what was in the box and how much i paid for her, and how i went up and down stairs in all our apartment buildings looking for the box, and how i even went to other apartment complexes looking through all their buildings trying to find my little box. im telling you i was FRANTIC!!

yeah id be bummed to loose a hottie like that!

I don't blame you! That poor lil' thing, she was probably freaking out just as much as you! But for different reasons obviously. lol. It's good to know that she's safe and all set up with her new mom now :)

thanks for all the great comments and the support!! im very happy with her, i need to get some good outside pics so yall can really see her color :) once she settles in some she will be taking a trip outside LOL. i held her for a little while after i took her out of the shipping container and she was surprisingly calm, even let me pet her tiny head without moving it away from me :) just a few more days then we can play with her :D
