A few comparison shots DUW

My light headed curtus has gone through a dramatic color change since we've had him. Starting out with a very dark dorsal color when he was a hatchling, and gradually lighting to a very light coffee mocha color by November. He held onto that light color until JUST recently.

Between April and June he has darkened dramatically. He is almost as dark as his sister now.

He is freshly shed today, and just notice the change in head color.

Just wanted to share!

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said "dramatic". :O

Personally, my fave outfit so far is the one he's wearing now. ;)

He really is starting to outshine his sister if you ask me! I mean, he is realllly looking nice today.

They both lighten a lot before a shed, and get very chocolaty, so it's such a nice surprise to see how dark they've become after a shed.

Blood python area is gettin busy lately!!!! I love it!!!

if you look in the diffrent head shots his eye colors changed. before he blacked out his eyes were dark now hes blacked out his eyes are red

I'm not quite sure which pics your referring to. He does have dilated pupils in a few of the shots, but he's eyes have never changed color as far as I can tell.

Very cool pics! :gj: The head color change is crazy. I have a black blood whos head can be bright chrome and then turn into that more drab tannish color....and you can almost watch the head change color, I feel it's pretty rapid...very cool pics! :gj:

Do you have another black blood? Looks like another one in the background...:confused:

Yup, I've got the two, the dark head and the light head. It is pretty cool to see them chroming, it's especially cool on the dark head when she's showing off a very silver head.

I don't know that I've seen this guy doing it to the extent as the dark head. I don't think it's very easy to see because his head is so light already.

might just be the colors making the red in his eyes pop out optical illusions you know how it is

Haha, umm... nope. His eyes are and always have been orange. Might be your monitor? :P

If your talking about the first head shot from back in November, his eyes are dilated, but you wouldn't be able to see the iris anyways like that. Your looking through his ocular scale and are seeing the black of his pupil.

You mean his side patterning? eh imma confused :confused:

In general, they've darkened a little, about as much as his head has. I think his pattern will stay lightly outlined, which looks nice against a dark dorsal striping IMHO.

That hast to be one of my fav things about my Blood... every time I look at her, she looks different. Her head is actually going dark after her last shed...
