OVULATION! Finally!

I've been waiting for this female to ovulate FOREVER! I had given up all hope after her not being with a male in almost 3 months, and then BAM! She's a buildin.

Was the belly hard? It's a hmmm for me too. Looks more like building than the ovy.

I'd say building...That's definitely no Ovy.

Just some food for thought...I see people do this all the time & it makes me wonder :confused:, but...

When a female snake is building follicles and/or ovulating, the last thing she probably wants is to be dangled in the air & moved around for a bunch of photos. The entire reproductive process is one we should strive to make as stress-free for the snakes as possible.

Open the cage, take a picture, close the cage. Be nice to that female so she'll be nice to you!!!!

Yeah her belly is rock hard. It seems like she is getting bigger every morning I come in and look at her. I still don't know why I said ovulation.. haha.. I guess I was excited. I'm giving her about 10-12 days before the pre-lay shed, and then I should know about when she'll lay. But her belly is very pink too, so she is going to start into that shed very soon.

Sorry for upsetting any of you by wanting to show you this female. I understand why I shouldn't have gotten her out, etc. However I only snapped 3 quick pictures and then put her right back. And the only reason I had her out was because I was changing the paper towels in her cage for some coconut bark to help keep the humidity up. So I snapped some pictures of her while she was out. $.02...

I'm just going to throw this out there.... not being there or anything, she actually looks like she could use some fat on her. Just sayin... she looks very long to be that size? Maybe it's just the pics and angles.

Before we started breeding her she was about 2100 grams and about 4ft4in. Now she is about 2300 grams same length. She hasn't eaten in three weeks, but prior to that she was eating one medium rat every 8 days.

Yeah she is pretty large... the biggest female I own actually. I have another female that is catching up quick though. The other one is a TRP... so I hope she passes her.
