Hey guys, you have to check out this fantastic new morph! There are pics on Freek nuyt's new site at www.fnreptiles.com

I was hoping that someone would make a striped pied and now its here! its just amazing looking. Would sell my soul for one!

You guys will probably shoot me for saying this BUT,

I just don't like it. In my opinion, there is just way too much going on with it. Piedball is my favorite morph. But this thing ugly.

The whole reason I love the piedball is the beautiful dark coloration, that gets perfectly cut off by perfect white spots... this thing is more like a big blurred mess.

    Just MHO.

It almost looks more calico than pied...no clear definitions on borders of white....hmmmm. interesting animal.

Exactly! To me, the "clear definition on borders of white" are what make a piedball so perfect.

I actually agree with Mike on this one. But I can appreciate the hard work and time that went into creating that animal. :D

I sorta do agree with you guys.

While it is an awesome animal..to me it is more like a calico.

In the egg pic he looks a lil more 'clean'. I wonder if he will brown out as much as the g-sripes normally do. :weirdface

He is a pretty cool lil dude! :D

While I do favor more "extreme" combos, this snake is quite appealing in it's own right. I've always been a big fan of the "brushed suede" appearance that the Genetic Stripe trait tends to add to combos...and I'm willing to bet that this snake is also one that is more of a knockout in person. Sometimes with combos like this, seeing them firsthand allows one to better appreciate all the subtle variations in the snake's color that are just difficult to capture on camera.

Can't wait to see one of these in the flesh someday. :)

    ahhh...brushed suede!

    :gj:

i couldn't think of how to describe the g-stripe color other than 'browning out'. I like brushed suede way better!

I was thinking the same thing. He says it is a 4 morph combo.

    I was thinking:

    Pied
    G-Stripe
    Pastel
    Calico

I think its only Stripe and Pied but I think he was counting 4 as in homo pied, het pied, homo stripe, het stripe

I think I need to see more pics of it before I can make up my mind. That would be a heck of a breeder to have in your collection though!

    Re: Stripedpied!!
If it had more white I'd like it much more. What makes a piebald so unique is the white interspersed with another pattern.

Piebalds are one of my favorite morphs and because of this I'm very picky about which ones I like or dislike. I don't like low white pieds and that striped pied is just too low white for my tastes. It needs to be 50% or more white.

If they produce some more that are higher white, then I will say "awesome". :gj:

I for one think it is awesome! Even though Pied's have been around for a while, I have seen very few combo's.

For me, this one is a little too busy for the name pied. Love the clean white on pieds.

Iīm with you on that Arjan but Freek told me it isnīt a Genetic Striped but probably a Super Striped. And as Kara was saying: it sure does look better in real life!!! Stunning colors and neat patterns.

That makes sense see as he was calling it a 4 way combo.

    pied
    yellow belly
whatever that gene is that turns a yellow belly into a superstripe
    pastel?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The picture of the snake you linked looks interesting, but in my opinion, is sloppy.

I guess I am just a fan of the first Piedball. IMHO Both the stripe piedball and the one you linked above are examples of why I believe combo morphs will have limitations. Once the patern gets too complicated.... too busy.... they go from being a positive different to a negative freekish. Know what I mean?

That would be an intersting conversation. I will start a new thread on it as to not hijack this thread. See "Combo Morph Limitations?"

I think that is a great looking snake.

I love most all the pied combos. I think what the patterning does to the colouration is great.

I for one love low-white pieds. I think each variance (low, med, and high) has its strengths, but I do not find any of them to be weak. As far as "sloppy"... not getting it, how is that snake any sloppier than any other pied?
