Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
7 eggs.
7 normals, 0 pastels.
I do believe I have discovered a new dominant morph. I will be taking sealed offers from interested parties. :O
Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
Aww Damon, I'm so sorry...
Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
Sorry man...these are the odds people usually dont post about, but it does happen. At least the hatchlings are healthy! :)
Congrats on a healthy clutch! :salute:

Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
I'm completely baffled. Last season, the same sire kicked out close to 50% pastels in 2 different clutches.
First 2 hatchlings are one. One male, one female, 68 and 69g. :rolleye2:

aw dudeski that sux for reals!
Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
Last year I had 11 eggs from Pastel het Caramel x normal and out of 11 eggs all 11 were normals.
Sometimes the odds are good and sometimes they are bad. You have to take the good with the bad whether you like it or not. over the long haul the odds work out.

Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
atleast you got 7 new babies! congrats on that:)
Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
Sucks about no pastels. It's cool that they're all healthy babies though. My odds last year were
pastel x normal.. 5 pastels, 3 norms
and
pastel x normal.. 1 pastel, 3 norms.
Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings

Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
Yeah, I even double checked the records to see if any other males were in there. None but him.
Nice, big babies though... I can't complain (even though I am) since I hatched 7 chondros last week and 4 are already eating...
Re: Pastel x Normal (worst) Odds on Hatchlings
Ack Damon the BP Gods were not smiling down on you. Hopefully you'll at least be female heavy in that clutch. I remember Adam Wysocki telling me about a pairing he did one year that produced nothing but normals, but the same pair of snakes the next year produced loads of morphs. I guess in the end it's just about odds but it's nicer when the odds go your way.
