    honestly...i can't even take it!
    I can't really!!!

    :rolleye2:

So my cat Peaches decided the other night to sneak out of the house while I was having smores by the firepit! I didn't realize this until the next morning when I woke up to hear Jeff yelling at these 2 cats to get out of our yard. I asked him what he was yelling so much for and he said there were these 2 orange cats going at it in our back yard and it was making Sway all crazy. I knew as soon as he told me that one of those cats was mine and the other was my neighbors! Hers is a male...and mine a female. So I ran outside..in my pj's and started calling her. I was walking through my neighbors backyard with just a big t-shirt and some flip flops on with a handful of cat food going "here kitty kitty kitty...come to mamas" :giggle: I was just hoping that he didn't come out of his house and see me! :O

Eventually the "noises" led us to his shed and there they were under it. I had no way to get her out. I had to wait. So I sat there...and waited...and waited...and nothing!

Finally Cait came home from her friends house and as soon as I told her what had happened she had to save her kitty from that boy cat! So she and Sophia sat out there with a bowl of food and finally she came out! Cait got her and was bringing her home and that male cat chased her all the way to the house!

Then I was laying out on my deck yesterday and heard her meow under me...i was like, wtf. So I went downstairs and looked out Kyle's window and yeap...there they go again! :O So I crept outside to get Peaches and as I walked closer he bit her neck harder...I grabbed at her and he started to drag her off! Then she started to run and I chased them both..I caught her and brought her in and shut the door to my deck.

He will not go away! He keeps meowing in my backyard all loud so I called his owner and told her and she made her kids come get him. But he is back up here again today!

Soooo...I was sitting here and he was actually on my lower back porch being all loud and crap. I tried to yell at him and make some noise to get him to go away but nothing so I decided to get an air horn and scare him out of my yard! I opened the back door and he was by my shed so I squeezed it and all I saw was dust flying! He waited about 10 minutes and came back. :( So this time I stood in my bedroom and sqeeezed it through the screen of my window and he hasn't been back!!!

but now I may have a prego cat.

Water baloons filled with food coloring and water. Send that cat home painted green a few times and that will end that crap.

I was going to get it done this summer.

I don't know that she is..obviously since it just happened but I am almost willing to bet since she is in heat. :(

Yeah....my mom ran into the same problem, but with 3 cats instead of one. There was a wild female that she fed sometime and my mom had two outdoor kittens. She didn't think the kittens were old enough to get preggo, so she didn't get them spayed, and then in one week, both of her cats and the wild cat had kittens in our shed. She had 14 cats after that. The ones that stuck around (sadly some didn't make it) have since been given to people as barn cats or something along those lines....but she isn't ever going to have a cat that isn't fixed again!!!

I hope your cat's little boy toy next door leaves her (and you) alone soon! The water balloon idea isn't such a bad one..... :P

Gaaaaaa! That really sucks Memes! Keeping my fingers crossed for NO BABIES KITTENS!

You should totally ask them if their boy kittie was neutered. (If you haven't already)

Not sure if neutered male kitties will still chase the girlie kitties though, but it would be kinda totally irresponsible of them to have an outside cat not be neutered and vaccinated and stuff.

I agree Susan...not that mine shouldn't get spayed but I wasn't as worried since my cats never go outside and I have no males.

frick. I hope no babies! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x...s/Xfingers.gif

I haven't had male cats or dogs ever... can you still see their testies if they are neutered?

Is it totally inappropriate to mention that if you do end up with little kitties, you do have a way of disposing of them? :snake:

(Just in case anyone is humor impaired, that was supposed to be 99% just joking... I reserve the other 1% because I wouldn't be judgemental of anyone that found themselves in this situation and decided to go that route... better than them ending up in a shelter.)

Do I understand that Jeff was yelling at these 2 cats... and one of them was your cat... and he didn't recognize her? :8: Men!

Anyway, I hope your Peaches is ok. I've heard that sometimes male cats can be pretty rough, which it sounds like this guy was with the bit about biting her neck and dragging her off! Yikes!

I'm pretty sure he is intact because when they neuter cats & dogs they take the entire testicles, which (mostly) stops the hormone production which makes them (mostly) uninterested in breeding, and possibly even unable to go through the motions. At least that is the way I understand it.

We used to have a group of males that would stand around and wait for our landlords female that was not neutered. I know what you mean when you say the Males stand outside and YELL! That is exactaly what they do, But the noisiest part I found is the actual courting and mating process...They sound like they are killing eachother. After she had a litter we took her to a vet to get her fixed, I think was less than a week after her litter(wasn't very long..) well when we picked her up from her operation the vet notified us that she was already carrying another litter of babies! Either she is a lil skank.. .or they can retain sperm! ;) They aborted the babies (without even asking us) and spayed her. That may be an option for you... If you don't feel bad about it (seeing how overpopulated cats are these days I think it is better than having more unwanted kitties in the world) take her to get her spayed, and if she is pregnant they will take care of it for you. I will also note, and this could have been anything, but less than a year after this, we had taken over care of the cat, since we had been handling all the vet issues... She unfortunatley became sick and passed.

I would definitely get your girl fixed (either abort the litter if you are ok with that, or wait until after she has the litter). I would also call the neighbor and tell them that they may want to get their boy fixed so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Crossing my fingers for no kittens, but in our experience it is very easy for them to get pregnant. My fiance's mother's cat, Cali, got pregnant before she was even a year old, and had a litter of 4. She was fixed not very long after the litter.

You can always go to the vet... I think they have some kind of 'morning after' thing for puppies n kitties!

Otherwise, look on the bright side! Kittens are super easy to take care of until they're old enough to go to new homes! Peach's will feed them, clean them, clean up after them, and litter train them! All you gotta do is find homes!

I understand. I would rather have a skinney cat than a fat or preggo one. Onlything preggo things in this house that are aloud to get preggo is the snakes and rats!!! LOL. Said my mom.

Kittens are cute the first time, but never again. I rescued a kitten that was not yet weaned a few weeks ago, and she is my babie, but a very annoying babie! Ill stick with baby snakes and rats.

They don't have to get fat if you monitor their food intake just like any house pet. Spaying and neutering can't make an animal gain weight.

I hope your cat isn't pregnant Meme but if she's been with that male a couple of times it's likely she is. You can't really blame the male cat though. Her sneaking outside and in heat is just going to trigger that yowling and hanging around. Best if she and the neighbours tom both get a trip to the vet and then there's no more problems that way. Check into a spay/neuter clinic. Most places have them and you generally get a very reduced fee.

If an animal is fat and cutting back it's food and upping it's daily exercise isn't doing anything then it's time to see the vet. Sometimes it does mean there's something going on that needs addressed medically.

That was back in 2004 and she is a happy butt kicking cat now, she did get mastitus(sp) after she weaned her kittens, but we got that cleared up, and she did go to the vet then. Healthy cat. So I don't know.

Argh! SOunds sucky. If it makes you feel better, my neutered male cat is going berserk because this stray feral tabby is around and will not leave the farm here. Can't get within 25 feet of him/her.. but MAN does my cat want to get out! He is a housecat and won't.. but yes now he is always by the door wanting to get out to the other cat..

Re: honestly...i can't even take it!
I would have her spayed immedietly, but that's just my personal opinion! :)

We just had our pit mix spayed, she went into a silent heat very early and was exposed to a male dog, so this morning she went into a clinic and we don't have to worry now.

When you've been to a shelter and seen those little faces so many times . . . no. I'd rather spay and not face the thought of those little lives ending up there, which is a huge possibility in this world unfortionally.

But these are just my experiences! Don't want to offend anyone, I know some may not agree with spaying a bred animal, though its become a common practice to prevent little lives in this sadly overpopulated world. :)

This story is so funny because we have a cat named Peaches who got out a few times. The TOM would come to the back door and bang on it. CRAZY STUFF!! We got her fixed and the TOM still comes around. I guess it doesnt help she sits at the back door looking at him all the time. LOL

Was a completely hella mean cat.

if he still has testicles, then he had a vasectomy and wasn't neutered. this is often done with people that breed ferrets because they will still have the hormones and go through the motions, but are shooting blanks and its a good way to get a female out of heat if you don't want her to breed.

but i digress. if she has been with the male, talk to the vet and have him spay her now before you are stuck waiting for babies to pop out.

Good luck with your kittens! They can be tons of fun, so don't stress too much- just enjoy them.

All of the female cats I've ever had got fixed and then got fat. The vets told us that spaying female cats quite often slows their metabolisms.

She already had her litter (about a month ago) and there was only one kitten. We kept her but have yet to name her.
