Wisdom Teeth are teh suck

Well, after being in pain for weeks I finally set up an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out on monday morning. I was given a prescription for something called Petridex rinse, which I found out is actually a Chlorhexidine solution. Thought it was kind of funny...the same stuff alot of you are using to clean your snake cages with, I'm using as a mouthwash (and it tastes like minty shampoo :puke2:)

Wisdom teeth aren't to bad. I had 6 of them taken out at once... I know... I'm weird. But good luck to ya! :salute:

Beware of the dreaded dry-socket.

I had mine pulled and was literally eating at Outback Steakhouse the next day. :D I had no problems at all with mine being pulled.
My fiancee was pissed as hell because she had tons of problems with hers...bleeding, pain, dry-socket, more bleeding.

6? I thought you could only have 4 max?

Anyways I had 4 taken out before they even broke the skin as a preventative measure. Didnt feel a thing just felt pressure during the extractions. I looked like a chipmunk for a week though afterwards, be prepared for swelling.

Oh ow- that sucks! I got mine out when I was 13- but mine were surgically removed, because my jaw was broke before- and becuase of that half of it isn't even real bone- and they didn't want to take the chane of re-breaking it. But hey- good luck, and be glad their just pulling them!!

Yeah, I definitely had 6 and the dentist my mom works for both of his sons had 6 as well. Nuts right?

mine weren't too bad, but everybody is different. mine were one of the "better" kinds to get out, and i was fine after the stitches got taken out

Yeah, the doctor(dentist?) said mine are actually good, despite the pain I've been in. The roots aren't into the nerve yet, so I'm hoping for a speedy recovery *knock on wood* :)

your lucky mine are inpacted or whatever have to go threw surgery big time to get them out, im not looking forward to it waiting till after im 21 so i can drink untill the pain goes away haha, best of luck with yours :gj:

mine were HORRIBLE make sure to take tylenol and ibuprophen. hope it goes well. =]

Well, I was only born with one wisdom tooth. And it's on the bottom and buried deep so my dentist said I'll probably never have any problems with it! :D That Peridex is popular stuff! We go through a ton of it at work!

I still have all 4 of my wisdom teeth but probably need to have them removed as theyre messing up my smile!! When my teeth were coming in I made the decision to take a couple minutes of pain over a couple days/weeks... I used a very sharp Xacto knife to cut the skin above my teeth which relieved A LOT of tension and pain. Best of luck with your pearly whites!!

Im getting 5 surgically removed in two weeks.. I'm supposed to get two days off, so rather than that they're doing it on a Friday so I have the weekend instead. I'll probably be one drugged up looking chipmunk.

Well, all said and done and I'm feeling surprisingly better than I thought I would. I threw up once after getting home, the mix of waking up from anesthesia and swallowing alot of blood didn't quite agree with me:oops: After a nap I feel about 90% better, and even had my brother drive me up to the pet store so I could get mealworms for my leo lol.

The pain was not to bad with mine, only part that sucked was I had to have it done the day before thanksgiving, so I was not able to have turkey or anything that year:(:( haha

We didn't have health insurance when I was younger and had to have mine taken out. As a result, I had to stay awake for the procedure because it was cheaper.

They gave me headphones to listen to, but I'll never forget the sound of Enya's "Orinoco Flow" contrasted against a 250 pound dentist breaking teeth apart in my jaw. It was quite lovely.

have you ever seen the move awake? That happened to me when i was knocked out for my wisdom teeth.. I don't remember everything but I remember all the crunching and some odd looking tools..

Yeah, the 6 weren't too bad actually. They worst part was I was in a band and our bass player was killed the next day by a drunk driver and I could attend the funeral (Didn't think the blood and spit everywhere would help the grieving process for anyone)

When i got mine out it took me a good couple of days of recovery and no solid food. Ice packs were a savior for my mouth!!

last night was pretty bad. the pain meds were making me sick, so I didnt want to take one before bed. But around 2 in the morning the pain was unbearable so I took one and felt much better for the rest of the night, and was actually able to sleep. When I went into the living room to get the pills I saw Chico (my leo) out and about in his tank which made me happy, seeing as I never see him out lol. Took him out for a little bit this morning. Figured we could both use some TLC :P I'm lucky I dont have a chipmunk face, never been a sweller:rolleyes:

lucky, I had hardcore chipmunk face. what pain meds did they give you?

5mg Hydrocodone. They've never sat well with me, but I'm building up a bit of a tolerance to it now.

Dry Socket.....thats all I can say right now:tears:
