    Hides for big snakes
So my new boy only has one hide. I really under estimated how big he would be. No commercial hide will do. So I used a shoe box and cut a hole it so he's using that on the hot side. Unfortunately I do not have anymore shoeboxes so he will have just the one hide till I can make shift something else.

Any ideas? I thought about maybe a litter box but I can't find one big enough.

Whatr do you guys use for larger snakes?

well just today i bought the littlest litter box from walmart probably 9.5 in wide and 12 long, cut an opening in the front, melted the edges of it to smooth it out and it works great and the bp loves it

I've seen cat litter pans used a lot.
you can always find a rubbermaid tub big enough for even the largest snake and create a door in the side

I would worry about not being able to sanitize that, but that's just me.

I use small litter pans from WM, about $200 each. I cut holes in the front and back, cut the ridges off the sides and sand everything down. Seems to be working well thus far!

Here's a pic. I may try the ones from RB. I hope they are big enough. Or maybe one of my big footed friends will have shoebox. :)

    Update:

I got another similar sized shoebox. Not exact but close.

He had been getting out in the morning and roaming about. Now, he's chilling in his new cool side hide. :)

My big girl does well in the largest sized one. Although, she's not yet 2000 grams. I suspect that will be about the size limit for those.

At that point those Vanness litter pans work well.

I feel your pain. One of my big girls started to wear her hide as a hat!!! I didn't have room in her enclosure (a 20 long) for two large hides and a water bowl, so I just gave her one large hide on the warm side, and completely covered the whole cool side of the enclosure making it dark on that side. This effectively made the cool side itself into a hide. She loves it!!!

Wrong!!!!! My 1100g females use the medium!!!! An adult can easily use the large size.
