    seeing eggs through belly.
Can anyone supply a picture of the leo whos gravid? I took a couple pics of my female who i *think* might be gravid..

the pair have been together since before I got them.. female laid her last clutch approx 4wks ago. At what point should I pull her out (if ever) to put her by herself to lay? She looks a bit thick in her midsection too. She currently weighs 57g (she was 48g the day we got her)

    ((pics coming soon))

Ashley I haven't bred leos, but from the gravid females I have seen, and pictures of gravid females I would say she does have eggs. Especially if she has gained that much weight.

They are cute, I really miss mine.
I would also say she is a normal/high yellow. Normals usually have a lot more spots on the legs and throughout the body.

I noticed a lot of wild caught/normal looking animals have tons of pots, where as the normal leos now have less.

She's def gonna be a momma! I don't have ANY of my leo pictures on this new computer, otherwise I could post some like that up. But she's definitely carrying.

    Congrats!!:gj:

ok, i played with the color levels to maybe get a better look... and this is what i got. I have also considered taking some pics of Cruz to be able to tell the difference.

We should so create a sticky for breeding!!!

That is definitely the smug look of a leo that knows he's gonna be a poppa! lmao! congrats!

BTW- how many eggs do they lay on average? and how long does it take for them to hatch? just curious! :D

from what ive read.. they typically lay 2 at a time. Incubation is up to 100 days depending on temp you incubate at... lower temps take longer.

I had mine normally hatch at 60-70 days incubating at about 85 for a sex split. My longest I had go to 107 days at the same 85 degrees, they were VERY melanistic but the rest of their siblings went the average and were much lighter in color.

She's gotta be close to laying those...soon enough.;)

Those look like eggs to me, considering the way her sides bulge a little bit.

They typically lay only 2 eggs at a time, although with the first laying you may only get one.

Shes getting more bulky in her abdomen and is more cranky lol!!! I have left her alone (except for checking for eggs) and she has eaten a little bit but isnt showing much interest. Maybe were getting closer? I want to weigh her again but dont want to bother her too much.

Mine always got a tad moody when they were getting close to laying. Don't underestimate a momma leos bite, it will catch you off guard!:8:

;) Jason, I have kept my hands steer clear of her head lol... I have been opening the lid to the hide, if shes in it she generally hops right out and i have a chance to take a peek, she was noticably bloated looking yesterday so i didnt mess with her too much. i check box and put it right back and close her bin.. :gj: dont want to do anything to make her too mad
