What do you guys (and gals) think about these guys

We're in the process of acquiring this guy and I would love to hear your opinions on the Spotnose and potential combos.

I saw that one too...

Powerballs are sweet, there are very few things happening with the combo that I have seen.

One of the subtle morphs again, but definately something fun to play with :)

Is that another new one so what we are up to number 12 in the past 2 months haha very nice keep posting pics we love them :gj::gj::bow::bow:

Great looking Spotnose, Tons of potential...very underrated.

The axanthic spot nose is a very sweet combo, we should see the axanthic power ball this year too so that should put spot nose on the map in a big way!

Great buy Louis! Ive seen a spot nose in person and they look nothing like pictures show, the one I saw almost looked "Waxy" but it was not in shed

Please Mike......Louis, not Louise :O. There's nothing wrong with the name Louise.....other than it's a woman's name and I'm not. A woman, that is. :rolleye2:

Anyway......on to your question.

Spotnose is the name of the heterozygous form of this incomplete dominant trait and Powerball is the name of the homozygous form. Other than that, I can't tell you much. I have tried to find a good picture of a Powerball, but so far I've been unsuccessful. I've seen them posted before, but can't turn one up now. I hope that helps you.

Thanks for the hit on our Spotnose. The one in the pic you posted is very good looking. Obviously, I am a bit biased (as I have the project), but I think they will make some great crosses in the coming years.

Thanks MeMe! I agree. I love their head patterns and facial markings. They have some KILLER black also!

From what I can see in pics, their eye color seems to be noticeably different from a normal's. Since I don't have mine in hand, I can't say for sure.

What about it Tim? If you happen to read this, would you care to comment on their eye color?

Here's a link to one of VPI's pics that shows the eye color. It's not a closeup, but it's the best I can do for now. Hopefully Tim will get back with us.

I agree that a spotnose is super underrated and I love the deep black on that one. Very nice looking snake.

Very nice pic's!!! They are def a "subltle" morph.

I've been doing some research on Spotnose, and there doesn't seem to be a lot out there. Are there proven and unproven lines? What is the typical pricing for them?

If you mean about getting the Spotnose........yes, we're definitely getting him. I've been wanting one and that one looked pretty good to me.

Thanks Alice! As for combos, I'm not sure. Initially I will try to pair him up with some normals, Pastels, maybe an Albino and if I can get her up to size, a het Ivory. Long term, I'm not sure. I will have a good many more options in a couple of years when I get some of my females up to size. One of them may be the girl in the pic below. Do you have any suggestions?
