Here you go: http://www.reptilebasics.com/2x3-Cag...h-p-16286.html
These are the best cages for Ball pythons, in my opinion. I have 6 of them! Customer service is excellent, product can't be beat!! :gj::gj:
Re: Advice on new enclosure
I think my next enclosure will be like that. Those are super nice.
Re: Advice on new enclosure
They really are super nice!! It's a real mix of feelings when I see my snakes in those cages cruising around all that space and lounging and stuff at night.
Then I can't help but think of the cramped conditions of my snakes in tubs.
While tubs are economical, space-saving, etc., I truly believe they benefit the keeper and not the snake. My opinion.
Re: Advice on new enclosure
Wow that is a very nice cage. Its a bit pricey but looks fantastic. I think that is who i got my rack from. Ill have to dig out the recipt to see. Thanks =D
Re: Advice on new enclosure
I don't believe it is pricey at all given that the cost of shipping is included- a rarity these days...
Re: Advice on new enclosure
I wanted the same thing for my larger snakes but thought that those cages are way over priced so i just built mine... I built 4 cages for 400$ so obviously it cost me 100$ per cage and I think they look way better. If you have the tools to do it yourself you can save yourself 100$. Some pics of my cages in my gallery if youre interested.
Re: Advice on new enclosure
That's cool that you and your dad built your cages and $100 certainly sounds very inexpensive. Did you include all of the wood, hardware, doors, flooring, heat, labor, etc., into that price?
For me, I don't have the time to build my own and I am more than happy to support a fellow herper's business! I also prefer the materials that RBI uses over a wood enclosure; my cages clean up so easily and absolutely no urine or water will ever leak into the surface!! No smells are good too ;)
So, lots of choices for housing snakes; take your time JT and see what's out there. I know a lot of people use AP T10's and love them also!
Re: Advice on new enclosure
Wood - 25$ (per cage)
Huge roll of vinyl - 20$(enough vinyl for 8 cages probably)
Plexiglass - 40$(per cage)
Rails for plexiglass - 20$ for all 4 cages
flex watt - 3$
labor - free
The vinyl covering for the floor makes it impossible for poop/pee to get through so thats not an issue... Each cage was staind once and poly U 3 times... 2 times while in pieces and 1 time when fully put together... this helps keep the heat and moisture in without ruining the wood. Over all it took me 2 weekends to make 4 these at probably 6 hrs each weekend... I plan on building one of these cages with some slight modifications for all my snakes once full grown.
Re: Advice on new enclosure
Yeah, I didnt realize those prices included shipping. I built a 4x4x2 cage for my bearded dragon with my dad about 2 years ago. It took a long time and turned out really nice, but I just dont have the time or the space/tools to take on a project like that right now(I don't live at my parents anymore). I did in fact buy my rack from them. Its a CB-70 4 tub rack that they seem to have replaced with a 3 tub model. Thanks so much, Starmom, for pointing me back at reptilebasics.
