LOL...that name didn't really "stick"...it was just kind of a joke @ the time since the guys were listening to Slayer while labeling the displays for Daytona last year.

Kara: I have to admit, I thought it was a very silly name for a ball python morph. I wasn't going to say anything, but since it was intended as a joke anyway I don't have to hold my tongue anymore. :P

Here's a question for you, though. Were you guys TRYING to get something like that, or was that guy a surprise?

Well, we knew the sire of this animal was capable of throwing something really cool, and he was bred to an "interesting" female. Producing these confirmed some suspicions we had about that particular girl & what she had going on, genetically speaking.

So you had a hunch, basically. Probably how the best stuff comes about. A little luck and a hunch. -lol-

... "hunch" becomes a strange word once you type it several times. :P

I'm not a fan of the colors (too light for my tastes) but I LOVE the busy pattern. So I'm a fan of it for "stepping stone" purposes. If it's genetic that is. :P

Well, not every animal "does" it for everyone - but with so many morphs and combos - there's something for everyone! There are some that don't "do it" for me either - but I often look past that to the powerhouse animal it really is (whatever combo that may not "do it" for me) and what it could do in someone's collection! ;)

    That is one sweet snake!!!

My guess would be that it is a combination of some of these (plus maybe a dinker project):

    1. Black Pastel or Granite-it has dorsal striping and alien heads that look like the ones commonly found on both of these morphs
    2. Calico/Sugur-Looks like it has some white coming up its sides
    3. Pastel or Super Pastel-Look at that yellow! There's almost no way that it doesn't have Pastel in it!
    4. Fire-Might have Fire in it to add to the bright color
    5. Yellowbelly-Does some crazy cool things when combined with some morphs. Chances are, it's in it!

It could have been something like a Super Pastel Yellowbelly male being bred to a dark low-white Calico looking dinker project girl who ended up being genetic or being a Black Pastel/Granite Calico...

Am I right (or close), Kara? You can PM me if I'm close!

What NERD owns is NONE of your business, and their business dealings are THEIR business. Both of your posts were completely out of line. I've been to NERD. They have nice animals, but they work harder than anyone that I personally know - lots of blood sweat and tears with their animals. Most of the money they make is put back into their business. Do you have ANY idea how much money it costs to run a business like theirs, pay their employees, pay state and federal taxes, mortgage, property taxes, vehicles, gas, feeding, etc? It is not as glamorous as you seem to think that it is.

Their finances are their business not yours.

For you to call her a cheapskate? I'm not even Kara - but I'M offended that you would even go there! Does Fred Kick know that you're trying to broker for him? I would suspect that HE would not appreciate your comments either.

Ya know....maybe if you tried getting to know the people you make such astonishing assumptions about....you might learn something. Just because someone has a bunch of beautiful snakes, folks think they must just be rolling in the dough. Do you even have any idea how much it costs to keep all those animals? Or even how many animals they have that they must house and heat and feed and clean up after?

Just stop with the ignorant assumptions.....

(EDIT: Robin beat me to the punch and said it much better than I did!)

It's a pretty snake, but no, I'm not trying to buy it. Besides, the snake in question is an Orange Ghost Genetic Stripe, not a Super Pastel Orange Ghost Genetic Stripe, as that particular triple combination doesn't even exist yet. Quite obviously what you "heard" was incorrect. If you didn't hear it from me, you didn't hear SQUAT, as I'm not into the ball python gossip game.

My primary interest is in blood pythons & short-tailed pythons, so anything I like ball python wise I'll just make myself for fun, unless Kevin beats me to it (go baby go!!!).

    Thanks!

People make assumptions like that about people who own their own business' all the time, regardless of the nature of the business. One of my good RL friends owns her own business selling harps, and everybody just assumes she is loaded. She isn’t. In fact, she barely breaks even. It is more of a labour of love than anything to make a stable income.

There is a certain level of understanding one must have for business to appreciate such things, I guess. That, or basic common sense.

The closest I've come to NERD is by visiting their website, but even so I can gauge the level of dedication, work and care that goes into their operation.

Another poster made the excellent point of asking if Fred Kick knows the poster was acting as a broker for him on a public form. This is very unprofessional and casts a poor light on Fred Kick, not NERD. I doubt he knows it or would approve. Free advice; don't try to help your friend like this, you are harming his reputation and business. Whatever dealings are being made, let the professionals handle it.
