Cloudy fish water

I have a small 6 gallon tank and i changed the water and rocks on Saturday.

The water was nice and clear until Wednesday.

I added water clear stuff 2 days in a row with no changes.

The filter is working and the charcoal sponge thing in the filter is clean.

Any suggestions?

Also I only feed them once a day so I do not think that is it.

How long are you leaving the light on? Sometimes that cloudyness can be algae in the water, and algae grows from lots of light. That might be it!

How long has the tank been set up? What is it stocked with?

You said you changed the rocks - do you mean you took the gravel out or just some rock decor?

Just changed the rocks.

Same decor.

Light is only on about 2-3 hours a day.

Lots of window light.

Water changes are always better than adding chemicals to clear the water, doing such is just delaying the problem imo. What rocks did you add, and did you prerinse them untill the water you were washing them with ran clear. Even if the bag says thier prerinsed, it doesn't mean crap, your still best off rinsing before adding. Also as said, it could be algae, if its more on the glass than the actual water itself, there most likely lies your problem.

Most likely your situation is this: In changing the rocks, you got rid of most of the natural bacteria in the tank. Now the tank has to cycle again and that cycle causes cloudiness.

Also, I would get that tank away from the window. Natural light is great for tanks, but only when that light is indirect and from across the room and perpendicular. Another cause could, indeed, be excess algae growth in the water from the window.
Knowing how long the tank has been up and what is in it would also help greatly to figure it out. :)

What kind of fish? Sometimes fish play a part in the cloudy water like Oscars..

That was my thought as well. I've seen this with a simple water change as well sometimes. Should be clear again within a few days if that's the case.

OMG.

The guy at the pet store gave me this stuff that worked like a miracle in like an hour.

Back to crystal clear water in no time and it has stayed like that overnight.

What kind of fish are in the tank?

The gravel in the tank is one place that the beneficial bacteria live. These bacteria help to break down waste products from the fish. Actually, some people (myself included) will grab a few handfuls of gravel from an already-established tank to add to a new tank to help with cycling.
I would avoid drastic cleanouts of water, gravel, and filter media all at once. I like the filters that have 2 cartridges in them; I change one at a time. Those good bacteria, without them, a tank is doomed usually.
