Which Herpstat?
I currently have one BP, and getting red tailed boa. Which Herpstat will allow me to control the temps in both setups? Also how many things can you plug into a herpstat, since I will be controlling two UTHs, and 2 heat lamps.

Re: Which Herpstat?
We like the Herpstat Pro because it maintains 4 seperate thermostats.
If you're confused on which one to get, give Dion a call and he can help you figure out which one is best for you - he's a good guy. =)

Re: Which Herpstat?
I have the pro and I love it:gj:

Re: Which Herpstat?
for only two heat sources, Herpstat II.
But yes...I do have the Herpstat Pro and it is one nice piece of equipment.

Re: Which Herpstat?
I've got the Herpstat II which is what you would need to run 2 identical UTH's and 2 identical heat lamps.

Re: Which Herpstat?
Sounds like most people are saying the Herpstat 2 or Pro.
But one thing i forgot to say in my original post was that i dont plan on the two cages being near each other, so would I be better off with two Herpstat ND's?

Yes. Even if you're not going to use night-drop, the built-in alarm could save your snakes if a probe comes loose.

Re: Which Herpstat?
Allright, I am also looking into getting a thermostat.
Heres what I understand so far.
Herpstat--only controls one device
Herpstat ND--1 device w/ nightdrop
Herpstat II-- 2 devices on separate settings (ie, warm side and cool side)
Herpstat Pro--4 Devices (Ie, warm side in two tanks, cool side in two tanks)
This seems right to me, but I hear ppl saying you can control two tanks with a herpstat II, as long as they are the same setup, two bp's for example. Can anyone clear this up for me?

No, they can be completely different. You will have two probes and two outlets for the heat sources to plug into. You program each outlet to warm/shut off based on the temp of its probe. You will have two probes, so you can control two different enclosures, even if they're totally opposite, as long as each different setup has its own probe

Re: Which Herpstat?
let me clarify what i meant.
Say i wanted to set up two tanks or tubs, both bp's. Where I live, I need two uth per enclosure, one warm one cool. Would a herpstat II be able to control two cool uths set at same temp, AND two warm side uth's set at same temp. I dont think so because there are only 2 outlets. Let me know please.

Re: Which Herpstat?
For both cool AND both warm, you'd need the Pro. Once I have some spare money, I'm wanting to get the II. :)

Re: Which Herpstat?
Damn, I didnt realize the pro was so expensive. Does Helix only control 1 unit just like Herpstat?
