This is an awesome litter for the one reason: My daughter is here to witness her first boa birthing! She's glued to the cage and in complete awe!

Haha, thanks eveyone. My little girl found the mother giving birth during "her rounds" lol and came in running to me..."Daddy Daddy Daddy!!!!" She was so ecstatic she had to sit and watch the whole thing and is now STILL glued to the enclosure watching the mom sift through the goo. She makes me proud! haha

Crazy, huh?! Very different from egg laying ball pythons!! Boas have a lot of babies and so to breed, you must be prepared to have a lot of mouths to feed and potentially raise for the long haul.

Yeah, same with my son. He wants me to get a sunglow male from Jimi next year (for my bday no less) so that he can breed from my house when he's in college. Hmmmm, how many errors can you see in this scenario?!?!

Thanks again everyone, but I have some bad news. One of the sacs that came out yesterday had 3 babies in it. Yes...triplets! (My daughter almost fell over), 2 albinos and 1 het...the 2 albinos died during the night. So, final count is 7 albinos and 10 Hets.

awww Jimi, sorry to hear that brotha, sux when something is soo exciting, then just comes to a complete hault.

But still 7-10 isnt bad odds, at least I dont think so.

    Keep the head up brudda!

Well, that's a bummer, but triplets are not exactly hardy. I'm glad that one still made it and 7 is an awesome number! :gj:

That's too bad about the triplets. I've never heard of triplets in snakes.
Still got a nice bunch, though.

If you look in the pic of the whole group, up in the right hand corner is the little het that is still doing good. The Albinos are a little harder to find, but they have the really bloated looking bellies.

I've heard of twins and I've heard of them being fine. I've never heard of triplets before at all. I just wish they weren't coming out of the sac right after being born so I coulda got a quick pic, but they were ripping through immediately.

Do you have any guess as to what happened?

    Re: Mother's Day litter!
Yeah, I don't get it. Since there was one sac, I would think that they would be identical; which they weren't since there was a het in there. Are boa twins always identical?

Yeah, it wasn't hard to pick out the triplets; just had to look for very small head size :( Does the het seem to have any problems or is it just a wee one?
