Growth Rate!!!!

Ok so everyone has been asking lately about how fast does a bp grow, yadda yadda yadda. So I figured Id show you how fast one of mine is growing, and he is by far the fastest grower.

Here he is back in Nov 07. (they are from Adam by the way)

Both of these pics have my GF holding him, so they are the same size hands.

He is at 724 grams...empty. I have two females for him, and they are just pushin 600 :(

WOW! They will get there.... I bet you cant wait to breed him!

I have a couple 07' at 1200ish grams. They came from Me btw! LOL!! He looks good man!

Pat i have a feeling thats not a normal, or is a het ?

I have a fast grower also. No pics, but I have recorded weights if that is acceptable. I bought her in late december at 550g. By Feb 1st she was only 715g because she was a picky eater for the first month. Since then she has never refused a meal and now weighs over 1300g. Btw Pat, that male of yours looks alot bigger than 724g. I guess Im not a good judge of size but its definately a nice looking one

Holy cow! I have some '07 females at 700 grams+ with rat in them and I was worried they were obese!

Jas, what is your feeding schedule like?

As in, do you have a schedule like
pups till 300 grams...
weanlings till.... etc....

? Or do you go more by feel?

I have 2 '07 females (from NERD) who are tipping the scales at ~1100ish. I am wondering how an owner determines their readiness to procreate. The weight is correct (or will be, certainly, by next season) and yet they are not 3 winters old; they'll only be 2 winters old (they were born in June...maybe July).
So, what's the litmus (as it were)?

Aren't small rats about 70 grams? That's over 30% of their body weight? Is this every 7 days?

The small rats I was feeding mine were 55g. ;)

Holy Freaking Cow!! Please, please, please tell me that the this is way out of the norm for bps to grow that fast! I don't know what ours weights but I know she has gotten a lot bigger. I just pray to God that she doesn't grow as fast as the one pictured. I'm going to need time to adjust as she gets bigger.
