Santa came by today!
I was fast asleep when all was quiet, when i wake to KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK! And there he was with his shiney purple and white truck, and many presents of joy. He handed me my present that i have been dieing to have, and asks me for my autograph (i know i feel so famous right). So i open the box read the literature that was inside, prolonging my own torture. I see no heat pack so i know he's cold (the one day this week it isn't 70 out, is just had to be 50 degrees). I take the bag out of the box and let him warm up to room temp before opening the bag, still prolonging my torture of wanting to see and hold my very much desired reptile. I finally give in and open the bag to see a huge mouth with lots of teeth staring straight at me, LOL. I calm him down and finally pull him out. Finally my reticulated python is here.
He was very lethargic at first, kinda wobling around like a little drunk man. As he continued to acclimate and warm, he became much more intrigued about his new environment. Right now he's cruisin around his tub, quite intensley i might say. I had cancelled my order with a different breeder, and purchased this guy from LLLReptile. These guys were on the ball. Everything was fast all Q's answered. I was truely impressed with their customer service.
Anyways, i will get picks up later today. He seems hungry to me, but i don't want to feed him too soon and have a regurge. Should i offer something small?
Well thanks for reading,
Brandon

First of all, we want to see some pics!!!
More importantly, if you think your new guy is stressed, and considering he is roaming around the enclosure a lot, I would say he might be, then I would wait at least a few days to feed. Just to let him get settled.

LOL I think I ask this once a week.
How can you tell if your snake is "hungry" does his tummy rumble? I just find it odd, that all these people have get snakes and "they look soo hungry". sorry not trying to be a douche, just wondering. I have had snakes for over 15 years. I dont think Ive ever seen one of my snakes "look hungry"
what kind of tic is it?

I don't know. When my boas or pythons Are hungry they get an attitude about them. I'm new to retics so i guess i'll learn.
He's a normal, i like like the way normals look. I want that purple tick you got. That thing is awesome!

A word on "what does a hungry snake look like". Two of my four snakes can definitely "look" hungry, the ball and the burm. You know the ball is hungry when she S's up so tight that her whole body throbs, ready to strike - "now that's hot!"
And the burm...he begs. Literally. I'll get pix. :D

I had a 13ft female retic(a larger version of yours lol) and she was very interesting. When i was in my basement she would "watch" me from the other side of the room(of course she was in her enclosure lol).If i moved and something blocked her view of me she would move :O.They are very interesting hunters :gj:

I'm still trying to prep for it, but so far he has been pretty gentle with me.

Re: Santa came by today!
Beautiful snake! I'm so tempted to make a retic my next snake I just got back from NERD earlier and they had a freakin gorgeous tiger there just begging me to take him home :). But I think I need to get a bigger apartment first before I can even think about taking home a snake that gets that large!
Again though congats! :gj:

Re: Santa came by today!
i was reaching into his enclosure to have some handling time, and next thing i know he started striking at my hand. i decided to leave him alone. so i think i'm gonna give him a few meals and let him chill before i start fully handling him.
