Question on handling at night?
Usually my ball comes out around 8 at night, and is out n' about til about 10:30-11 at night. How many people handle their snakes in the evening or at night when their out? And does it mess with their photoperiod or anything if i were to turn on the light in my bedroom? Is that ok, i don't want the light to stress him, or will it!? Thanks guy :)
Re: Question on handling at night?
Can someone help me out on this here. Because i was planning on taking her out tonight but didnt know if it was ok to turn on my bedroom light!??
Re: Question on handling at night?
Take it out when ever you want. Just dont try and play with it like its a dog or something.. Take it out clean its cage and put it back. The light wont make a difference.

Re: Question on handling at night?
i dont think its a big deal to turn the light on but i usually just keep the lights out with the tv on when i handle mine
Re: Question on handling at night?
I guess my question ultimately is what colors do snakes see if any? I know they can detect infared, but far as colors go, what can they see?
Re: Question on handling at night?
It shouldn't matter when its light or not, I handle mine during the day and she seems cool with it :)
Re: Question on handling at night?
I handle mine in the daytime. In the evening they look out of their hides in a hunting mode and I feed them in the evening.
Re: Question on handling at night?
Do you guys get them out of their hides in the daytime, or are they just out n' about on their own?
Re: Question on handling at night?
I always take mine of the hide. I rarely ever see her out except in the wee hours of the night...or morning.
Re: Question on handling at night?
I take them from their hides in the daytime. At first they may not be happy, but soon they seem to get used to you and any routine that you have.
Re: Question on handling at night?
I almost always handle my snakes at night when they are out and about. If I turn on a bright light in the snake room at night many of them will go back into their hides, but after a few minutes they will come back out. A dim light doesn't make any difference. Once I have them out they could care less about the light.
