    The Non-Bite Club
Ok so is there anyone out there that has been keeping snakes for a couple of years now WITHOUT getting bit? Its been about 4 years for me and I've yet to get tagged  Is there anyone else out there with a clean slate or remember how long they went before getting bit? Its a slow day at work today and this popped into my head.

I wanna be apart of this club!!! Im still scared around mine - the big one way more than the baby - I guess size does matter. But Im gonna have some vodka tonight to calm my nerves and we'll see how it goes. Baby steps - should be good with all the great advice I got from everyone here on how to get over my silly fear.

I know I am gonna get tagged as soon as I post this, but out of all the snakes I have and have had (including a 12' burm) I have never been bitten. I have had a few try their hardest to kill me, but I am very careful with those ones. The mean ones will never get me, only the ones that I think are nice have a chance because I am not expecting it :gj:

For sure! I've never once been upset by a bite! If anything, I laugh at myself for giving them a reason! Haha!

Never by one of my BPs. By Corns, my Childrens (every dang time you took her out and it wasn't just one tag, it was tag-tag-tag, nom nom nom) and an 8 ft Burm who had been missing in a store for 5 months and was cold and HUNGRY.

Then only one bite in over 30 years, and it was this past year. Complete mistake on my part. Went to grab a water bowl on feeding day, and stuck my hand in front of the hide. Just a quick nip from a BP, but it did draw blood. When I wiped the blood off, I could not see the puncture wounds, so no battle wounds to show.

I haven't been bitten YET... I keep having dreams of being bitten by my bp though, and I'm anxiously waiting for it to happen. I've actually thought about provoking a bite to satisfy my curiosity, but I could never do that to my snake...

How can an 8 foot burm be missing for that long in a store?? I wouldnt think they would be able to hide in too many places. Plus when they move from place to place someone has to notice right? Oh well, I think its awesome. Would be cool to tell customers theres a large snake loose in the store :)

Well if we're including bites from all species then.. I get bit (or at least bitten at) almost daily. lol I'd rather have a snake bite than a dog bite any day though..

    Once bitten, for me.

That is with blood drawn, I have been nipped and stuff. And the occasional garter, but those don't count.

Handled hundreds and hundreds of snakes both wild and tame, and never been bitten. I've been "bopped" by bluff strikes, but the mouth never came open. :gj:

being bit by snakes does not bother me at all, its the sound they make when they bite that makes me jump lol.

I also work with a ton of baby snakes and what i have found is that most balls are just bluff. I just go in palm first and if they strike it just bounces of my hand and then they curl up and retreat.

Been keeping snakes for about 15 years. I've always had at least one ball python.
I have never been bit by a Ball, but have been bit by Corns,Rats, Kings and Milksnakes.
Every time I've been bitten its been my fault, obviously I've not learned from my mistakes lol

I know in the case of a guy I know he had a fairly large retic get out of it's cage and get into the ceiling tiles (it was a low ceiling in the basement.) He had a hard time trying to get her out of there.

I think I went maybe 6 months without getting bitten. I went to move a bottle cap out of the way of my first ball slithering around on my desk and he reacted with a defensive strike. I found this to be really amusing as I'd been dealing with a young carpet python which would strike every time i went near him or opened the cage for at least a month. He grew out of it after figuring out I wasn't going to hurt time...he was a scared baby.

I wish I could be a part of this cool club, but I've been tagged numerous times in my life...none by a ball python though.
