Is it because they are Christians? There is no denying their talent.

Nothing to do with religion. I just thought they sucked. Naglfar FTW though haha.

Vomitore! Awesome! I have been trying to tell people for Years that Carcass was an amazing metal band.
Carcass Heartwork and Swansong are, without a doubt, in the top ten metal albums of all time.
I have seen many Metal shows in my day. Vader 3 times, Cryptopsy, Messuggah, Nile, Slayer, Morbid Angel, and many more.
But honestly, the best metal band I have seen live was Dying Fetus. They were unbelievable.

Hehe cool! I've seen Cryptopsy, Nile, Krisiun, Dragonlord (one of if not their first shows ever), Arch Enemy (before they sucked) and many others. I'm happy Carcass is reuniting this summer. I hope they play the US.

Vomitore do you listen to any Municipal Waste?
On a side note: I got a Splawn Nitro being made. We're going to have to do up a gear thread soon when it arrives! :rolleye2:

I like behemoth when they were more raw black metal. Marduk's nightwing is CLASSIC!

I just checked em out. Too much of a "core" feel. Sounds like another Job for a Cowboy.

Re: Vomitore's Lessons in Metal: Part 1
I like good production...sometimes bad production can make a band painful to listen to.

Yeah, but sometimes good production lets you down when you hear a band live who just plain sucks live haha.
-
Re: Vomitore's Lessons in Metal: Part 1
haha that's true..but the only impressively close band i've seen live is dream theater...and necrophagist.

I know what you mean..i was the same way for quite a while..for the longest time I just wanted to do solo...but shredding all day gets boring..as hell. lol so now i play boring stuff for a black metal band..with my friends...so it works out as a good hobby.

I just keep finding people that either play metal-core (which I can't stand) but say they only play true metal. Or they live too damn far away.
-
Re: Vomitore's Lessons in Metal: Part 1
yeah...the metalcore things..is really getting annoying..or the muddy sounding breep bands too..but some of those can be ok here and there.

A bit of a common theme.
