newspaper users!

where are you getting yours?

Our condo complex has a recycling bin with only newspapers and thats where weve been getting ours! One persons trash is anothers treasure is proving very true. at least 70% of the time the newspapers are unopened (those are the ones i reach for) it makes it so nice that we dont have to actually buy the newspaper and that its so easily accessable.

We liked using papertowels but it just got to be too expensive, cant get any cheaper than free can you?! :banana: just an idea for those of you who do recycle or live near someone who does!

20.00 a quater gets it delivered to my door every morning.. :D thats 90 papers for 20.00 :D

I get the Sunday local newspaper delivered to my door for free. (and I get my next door neighbor’s one too)

When ever i buy it :P.

U-Haul has boxes of Blank News Print for about $9.00 for 140 sheets. The size of each sheet is around 40"X24" and we normally double them over for our large enclosures. This makes sure our albino doesn't look like a rainbow!

My grandmother works for the paper...so whenever I am running low she brings a backseat full. When my dad comes down he brings his old papers over as well.

I didn't either, but I didn't like the non-genetic "black bellies" either! :P

You can usually get partially used rolls from your local newspaper for free or very cheap.

Uline has rolls as well and a paper cutter for the rolls that works great.

I just cut the roll to width with a band saw and tear off a couple pieces for each tub.

After switching to the rolls of paper I won't go back to folding or cutting old newspapers :)

Robin, thats exactly what i was getting at lol.. im sure my snakes look more dingy than they need to be, thanks to the newspaper and its ink :rolleyes:

I usually get a stack of old papers from the local newspaper. They fit my enclosure perfectly.

I subscribe to a local free paper. it's run by a guy who is kind of a jerk, so anything I can do to help waste his money is good by me! And my snakes get to express my sentiments....
"This newspaper is very good- FOR ME TO POOP ON!" :D

My roommate also gets a few intellectual papers so the snakes can get some good reading in as well!

I ask my freinds to save papers for me. Works well. I take it all, and recycle the parts I can't use(slick advertising, or stapled portions) and use the full sheets. I just lay out a huge pile(that's BORING to do) and then have a nice ready stack when I change bins.
Good idea to check the recycle bins though!

Only if you don't use the front pages off the sections of the USA today. Those things are color and show up nice on an Albino! :O

We have a local paper that's free. Everytime I go to the store I grab 3 or 4 copies and i'm all set. Free rocks!

if you dont have a local newspaper then for you morning people you can go into your local gas station and get yesterdays newspaper for free. i used to work at a gas station and what we would do is cut the top off of the first page and throw the rest away. my two snakes were in heaven when i worked there. but i think they like my new job better!

All my hatchlings get used phone books...just rip a few pages out each time...I collect the books each year from the neighbors and have never run out yet.

The adults - I go raid the local "free" paper bins at the grocery store.

I have a friend that works for a paper. What every I need he brings over once a week.
