Best dogs ever!! I love labs. I have a black lab myself. However only one.
If only I got paid to sweep two times a day and vacuum lol

A quick tip, and much cheaper than the furminator brush. Check out the Kong Zoom groom brush. Its made out of rubber, and its a hair magnet. Also reduces shedding!!

I will have to check that out! I never use the furminator because I don't want to pull out undercoat on my dogs too much. I want them to keep their otter tails and good Labbie coats since they swim every day, and I would *NEVER* furminate a Golden Retriever. I am coat proud, though!

Labs sure are great... hehe I don't get paid in money, but the love and laughs are priceless!

Your avatar snake is way cool, btw

Yeah I would love to try a furminator but with a lab, I'd like to keep his under coat. There is a reason why its there. He also loves to swim. He sees water and he is gone lol.

The zoom groom takes out a little bit of the under coat, but not like the furminator. Its more of a shedding aid, in taking out what is loose and supposed to come out.

I know what you mean about golden retrievers, their coats are beautiful. We had one for years. She was an angel. We lived on a farm and during the middle of winter, in 2 ft of snow one of our goats had had babies unexpectedly. We didn't know she was pregnant. The babies had rolled out under the fence in the snow and couldn't get back in. Goldie (our retriever) had heard them crying and wandered out there late at night. We found her the next morning curled up next to the barn in a ball with both baby goats squished into her warm belly. She saved their lives. She was so proud of herself for it. When she saw us she was giving us smiles. She was a good dog.
She did a lot of things like that.

    Definitely awesome dogs!!

That is such a sweet story... nothing like the nature of a Golden (or a Lab). They are just so special!

Oh what lovely photo's! Labradors are my favorite breed. We've had two black Lab females in the past (one passed of old age, another sadly of cancer) and currently have a wonderfully goofy year old female yellow Lab named Bella. For me, there's just no better breed for a family dog than a good natured Labrador. :)

Thanks for that tip on the Kong Zoom groomer. We already love the Kong line of dog products - world's best chew toy - so we'll look for that next time we're at the pet store. Bella's a typical Lab when it comes to shedding. I now wish I'd never gotten this navy blue couch right before we adopted an almost white yellow Lab! What a mess.

LoL I know what you mean. I have a sage green couch and a black lab. It sticks out like a sore thumb, not to mention the white kitchen floor and tile:rolleye2:

I too love Kong Products. Zoom Groom is about $10.

Hardwood flooring and a white Lab....*sigh* It's a daily battle of the broom and the hairballs let me tell you.

I think the next time we replace this couch I'll just take Bella to the furniture store with me and tell the nearest salesperson that I could care less about brand names and what sort of fabric it is, JUST MATCH IT TO THE DANG DOG!

How odd. It seems lately a lot of people are having problems like that. My computer acted up the other day but dumping my temp files and then logging fully out of BPNet then back in cleared up the problem.

Great Idea with the furniture store lol.

Zab already ate one of my couches:O Except we aren't sure if it was him or our shar pei, I think it was both. So now they get the crate whenever we leave.

Since you guys are sharing I will too. Here is my Zabby boy. He is a mix of some sort we believe. Were told aussie, but he has so many wolf traits its unbelievable. He just turned 1 year old April 3rd, and still growing.

Rubber cleaning gloves work wonders.... On the dogs & the furniture + easy on the wallet :)

The dogs (or cats) love it to because you're petting them they don't even realize their being groomed.

I love Labs and Retrievers! That Golden is awsome looking..i had a golden that we rescued from the humane society. usally they keep dogs for like 2 weeks before the do what ever they do but they kept this dog for over 2 months cause it was such a nice dog and man was he...we named him Lucky for these reasons

1.they kept him longer than any other dog
    2. he was once shot and had a .22 rifle bullet lodged in his chest
    3. got hit by a car and survived
    4. had a stroke
    5. got attacked by a raccoon
    6. lived to be 18 before we put him to sleep

Best dog ive ever had, i miss him so much! i cant wait to get another golden
