Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
Just curious on what are the morphs/BP's that are most important to have in a collection? what are your guys opinions?
-
Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
There is no real answer to this. Everyone has their own opinion on this and its really what you think is the most important.

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection

It depends on your goals...
But the most common and most used animals are:
Pastel
Spider
Normal

I would say
Pastel
Lesser
Spider

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
Hard to say it matters on what you like. I may like Carmel Albinos but you may not like them.
I really like the morphs that just clean up other snakes like
Pastel
Hypo(Ghost)
Fire(Well this does other stuff too lol)
I love the Carmel Myself. And I love the Yellow Belly. Shoot There are so many that I could not just choose three. lol

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
I think 3 good staple morphs are
Pastel
Spider
Ghost
They are probably the most used combo morphs. Then you start adding the more high end morphs.

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
Are you looking for answers as far as collecting or are you looking for future breeding? Also I take it you are talking base morph!
Collecting would go like this for me:
1. VPI Axanthic
2. Albino
3. Pied
If you were looking for something to breed then more questions would come to mind. Are you talking hobby breed or business? Are you limited to three snakes or three types of genetics?
If your doing hobby breeding you got the time to play with ressesive morphs all you want. If you are doing it as a business then you will probably want at least one dominate/co-dom if not two and at least one ressesive to play with. Also you want to make sure you get at least one pattern and one color morph.
These are just my opinions!

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
1.Mojave
2.Pastel
3.Hypo
Mojaves and lessers both make blue eyed lucys. But mojaves usually cost half as much. I also feel that contrast of the dark brown with the hint of yellow looks better than the over all lightness of the lesser.
A good looking pastel, no matter which line, will have your non-snake-loving friends in aw. A super has the same effect times 2.
Hypo is just overall good for combos. The nerd line of orange ghosts is my favorite.

The ones that cost alot more;)
I picked those three because they are probably the most widely used in combos yet some of the most affordable and availible, I personally own females of those three morphs for those exact reasons.
As far as other morphs, I think you should get what appeals to you. Cinny, mojave, lesser, pinstripe, clown, albino, lav albino, caramel etc...
There are so many you should see what combos and morphs appeal to you.
My first three choices from the other post(pastel, spider and ghost) are a great foundation for many excitng breeding projects:gj:

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
My fav is Leucistic, but they are very rare and extremely expensive.
I like womas, fire balls and cinnies too.

I was gonna say Pastel, Spider, Ghost but That would be a awesome group of snakes for breeding. So which two would be the females.

Albino and Pied, so you can breed the male bumblebee hets back to them sooner!

Re: Most Important 3 Morphs/BP's for collection
If I were just starting, there are two morphs I think every breeding program should have: Fire and Pied. The Fire just does incredible things for combos (plus the black eyed leucy is awesome). The Pied has about as close to "Universal appeal" as any morph out there.
That said, the third choice is debatable-either a pastel or some kind of albino (Preferably Lavendar, but caramel or normal albino are also good-depends on your budget).
