    SnakeBytesTV-feeding day at BHB
Okay so here's a small look into what a feeding day looks like at our shop. Of course we couldn't cover it all and we left the gore out so we don't get too much hate mail:) To watch the show please go to www.youtube.com/snakebytestv Please subscribe, COMMENT, and rate the show. The more of these things we get the better exposure the hobby gets from youtube! Also if you want to join the shows community you can at: www.snakebytes.tv Thanks everyone for all your continued support!!!! Brian(BHB)

another great show Brian:gj: i am sure you are going to horrify some people just throwing those live mice in there and closing the tub. people are very weirded out about leaving prey unattended for any length of time so you may want to address that before you get pummeled with emails. :D

I was just about to say - he had some great feeding responses! And those were baby rats, not mice (even though he did say mice in the video). That's about what my feeding day sounds like as well. Open tub, drop in rat, close tub - squeek!

    Great video Brian!

It's interesting that he said most ball pythons prefer to feed on live prey; mine do pretty darn well on F/T!!
I wish he had more time for his segments because they are really good. In this one, we saw him opening bin after bin and watched as he dropped the prey in and closed the drawer <squeek!> But at the end of the segment, he said that feeding was much more than opening the drawer and dropping in prey...
I just wish he had a format whereby he could spend time on the details rather then just giving a look at the big picture. However, at the end of the day, Brian is to be commended for putting out herp information on a consistent and weekly basis in a format that is both entertaining and educational!
As always, thanks to Brian and the staff at BHB

Did he just show BP's feeding? I'm more than 90% sure he feeds the BP's live and everything else FT/Pre killed. That sounds like more work than just dropping rat in and shutting. :P

Robin, how old before it's not a baby anymore? A question I've always wondered about... Is it measured in months? Weight? :hmm:

I think she's stressing the point of the word prefer. It can take some time to get a hatchling ball python to take FT, heck it can take adults some time to accept FT aswell.

As far as the term baby snake, that will have about as much variability as the term small rat. Seeing as I've had year old snakes at 1000g+ and some at 300 grams I don't know if you can pin an age/size/timeframe onto the term baby snake.

I wish I had more time to explain everything in the episodes too. You have to remember when we film we film a ton and then only a little gets used. I never really know what they'll cut out. That day we fed baby colubrids, baby Ball Pythons, and adult Colubrids. And we fed a wide assortment of techiques, when it came down to the edits a lot of it was left out. When I do the "outtro" I have to cover everything that we shot. Sometimes I look a little stupid:) Well maybe more then sometimes.lol

Those where baby rats and we go back and check a few hours later. I wish I could feed everything frozen or fresh dead, it's just not possible. One of the down sides of having a larger collection:( Thanks for everyone watching and commenting on the show! Brian(BHB)

    Another excellent video Brian!

What's the reason's you can't stretch the length of the episodes? I bet a 30min episode would be easily filled by you guys and very informative & entertaining...

    Re: SnakeBytesTV-feeding day at BHB
There are two issues why we can't strech the show longer. One is a file size issue. Most hosting sites like youtube only allow 100mb files. Ours are already between 60-90mb. The second is that most people on the net don't have the attention span to have a show much longer then five minutes. If we are fortunate to get a TV deal the show will be either a half hour or an hour. So you'll be totally sick of us real quick:) Thanks for the support! Brian(BHB)

    Re: SnakeBytesTV-feeding day at BHB
    Just an idea...

You could have the regular 5-6min Video's for Youtube as a Trailer or Preview of the weeks Episode, and have a link to the actual 15-30min video in the description sending you to the Snakebytes website if they want to watch it in full.

That way your not taking Snakebytes off YouTube and won't lose any viewers
