New addition to the family

Well, after discussing this with my husband for the last couple months we've finally decided to get add another member to the family. Introducing Princess Leia. My daughter is all about princesses and my son all about Star Wars so it seemed the best solution. I will just be calling her Leia. ;) My kids are absolutely wild about her, and she has been a doll so far. She's still a bit of a nibbler, but she's just a baby so that's expected.

I went to take some pictures so I could introduce her to you all, but that turned out to be harder than I thought. The silly girl just doesn't sit still for more than a second, and she was in full play mode! :giggle: Here are a few pics that I managed to snag.

First off, here she is in midflight. You can almost hear her lauging, nah nah nah you can't catch me!

I love ferretts. I've always wanted on since i was a kid, but their illegal in NYC. I go to school in Albany and found some at a pet store...I hadda pick one up. I had him for 4 days before my roommates made me return him becasue he stunk....and he really did, but I was in denial... I sure do miss him

They do have a slight smell, but it doesn't bother me at all. Tonight she gets a bath, so we'll see how that goes.

I do too. My kids have just giggled and giggled when we let her out to play. My daughter is the first one to spot when she wakes up, and it's off for a little playtime. :love:

That they are. We're trying to get her used to a leash, but she HATES it. She refuses to use her front legs until she's slithered out of it. Sneaky booger. She's keeping it on longer each time we put it on, even if it's only a matter of a minute longer... :D

Congrats Christie! Karl said "that ferret is going to drive Christie crazy!" LOL

I had a horrible experience with ferrets - dated a guy with them, and when I was sleeping, one came and bit me on the bridge of my nose - mean sucker! And it wasn't a love nibble. He let them run loose and they pooped all over his house - needless to say the whole house smelled like ferret poop.

Tell Karl, if my husband hasn't managed that feat yet I doubt a ferret could do it. I've had a ferret before, during my college years and absolutely loved him. He used to lick the water off my feet when I would get out of the shower. Boy did THAT TICKLE!

OUCH! Geez, I can't imagine letting the ferrets loose in the house. Nope, nuh uh, no way. (It's apparently the way people think I keep my snakes though) I have two dogs and two cats that I wouldn't necessarily trust unless I could keep my eye on them. She does get plenty of playtime outside of the cage, so I hope she will adjust okay.

She's adorable Christie! Your kids are gonna have a ball! I really like ferrets and their goofy bouncy personalities.

Thanks Jason. She actually brings the whole family together to play with her. (Even the husband which is just SHOCKING! :O )
