Wow that's just beautiful! I hope someday I can have a nice greenhouse like that.

I'm so excited because I just noticed today that my vanda is sending out a flower spike! I thought I wasn't any good at keeping orchids..

It is a blessing, I probably wouldn't breed rats if it wasn't for that

I started out with a little roll of plastic and woodframed geenhouse I could barely fit in.(That was after the kitchen table with sunny window)

I'm so excited because I just noticed today that my vanda is sending out a flower spike! I thought I wasn't any good at keeping orchids..

It is very rewarding to bloom your own orchids. Vandas have amazing blooms, best of luck.

Wow! Just beautiful!! What is the flower in picture #5? It is beautiful!! We're building a greenhouse onto the front of our castle in Eastern Oregon. It will be down (in elevation) from the southerly front of the house and will also act as a heat sink for the radiant flooring, etc. We hope to put fruit trees and beautiful flowers and herbs in it....snakes too, maybe...
Just a lovely patio you have; thank you for sharing. :)

That is a phalenopsis or moth orchid. The white ones are the most common, that one is a spotted variety. They come in 100's of variations and colors.
    Here is a purple one

They are fairly easy to grow and are considered a low light orchid. A sunny window with some shading can work. The best thing is the blooms last a long time, sometimes months.

Here are some examples of Cymbidiums, they need to be outside to cool(30's-40's) in the winter or they wont bloom.

Here is a red one arranged with some white phalenopis.

and another one just starting to bloom now.
