Just enough to get the humidity up around 65%-70%.

When my snake goes into blue I bump the humidity to 72-75% until they shed. The snakes always have a perfect shed! I increase the humidity by putting sphagnum moss into each of their hides as well as a container of moss in the tub (or cage, depending on which snake...)
I have never misted because I believe that it creates really crazy humid highs and lows. Maybe you could try the moss?
    Hope this helps some!

I keep all my animals on paper, and humidity at 50% all the time, I don't mist and I have perfect sheds. I think if you keep your humidity at 50% all the time, your snakes should shed fine.

I, also, am not a fan of misting. I will use sphagnum moss in hides as well. A damp sponge works great for humidity boosting as well.

You forgot to add to watch for bacteria colonies on the sponge- the only drawback!

Re: Whats does it mean to mist?
MAJOR issue with sponges (bacteria that is), more than towels I would say because as far as I know you can't sponge a towel in the wash....I wash the several towels I rotate in the washing machine a few times a month with hot water and detergent.

im with raber on this one, i do exactly the same thing, never have had a problem, i see alot of people keeping there balls waaay to wet which leads to belly rot, fungus, bacteria, etc, no need for that, as long as your snake(s) are having good sheds that's all that matters

Yes, you have to wash the towels. I would wash each week!

That's what I do. Keeps humidity at 50-60% and when they are in shed, I wet the towels down. I wash them once a week. Or should I say my beautiful fiance does it for me. :D

Your bp should be fine, but bacteria does build up in constant warm, damp places. I change my towels every few days or wash them by hand with dish soap or detergent and rinse well with hot water. I throw the lot of dirty towels in the wash when I run out.

Re: Whats does it mean to mist?
You buy an empty spray bottle , fill it up with water and then you spray insiede your cage in order to increase humidity levels .
    I hope that helps ! ;)
