I was hoping that some of the more experienced breeders to extrapolate more on this bas some of us may not be as experienced with this behavior. Thanks. :D

Re: Tail Wagging
So what do you want to know...it is like any female when they get excited..lol:D
About half mine did it this year when I first started to introduce a male to them...they "run" around their tub wagging their tail, knocking over their water just going nuts basically. Usually they were locked up within a few hours. I think like most animals it is an outward display that they are ready to breed.
yea i saw that i was just hoping there was more to it than being "excited" but i can except that as a explanation.:D

Re: Tail Wagging
Well if you get down to it its the female emitting hormones that let the male know she is more than receptive. I'm not sure if this is the same as musking in boas and larger pythons and colubrids. But its like perfume for snakes.

It seems to me, it happens most when "Mr.Right" is introduced, not with just every or any male. :gj:

Re: Tail Wagging
I had a really pissy WC that would either ball up or assume striking position - and if she were sufficiently riled up, her tail would swish quickly back and forth... like a cat.

Re: Tail Wagging
when i put my pastel male in with our female, she started wagging and spraying all over the place. I checked for a lock every couple of hours and i never saw a lock. She likes him, but i dont think he likes her.

Re: Tail Wagging
My female normal, Bela, does it. She did it last year when paired with her mate, and she did it again this year :) None of my other girls do it. it is funny to watch (from a distance of course) and my husband gets a huge kick out of it.
