Hey, I was just wondering what's the largest thing anyone feeds to a bp? Pics would be awsome!

The largest I feed is a 4 weeks old rat, probably about 75 grams at the most!

Breeding females get 80g rats and everyone else gets 55g rats.

Yes some of my balls are 3000 + grams and they do just fine on rats that size. Every thing from 1000 grams and up gets a small rat every 7 days. 950 grams and below get just weaned rats every 5 days till they hit 1000 grams.

i just went by the girth of the snake and i figure since my big girl is about 900 grams and the small rats between 60 - 70 grams does her good for 7 days

Just because they "can" eat something that big, doesn't mean they should. Their metabolisms are so slow, that feeding something the size of a large rat is just wasteful. They honestly aren't going to use that amount of food and it's just going to get pooped out.

They will but I have seen adult Balls go on fasts when they are fed large prey items on a regular basis. I had one of mine do it I was feeding med rats years ago and then it fasted for 8 months.
Its not that they wont its that theres no reason for them to be offered that large a food item due to their metabolism

Occasionally I will feed some of my big girls (2500+ grams) a medium rat - but for the most part all my adults get small rats - the big ones will get two - sometimes three if I get distracted and loose count.

40-60 gram rats for my adults every 7 days - results in consistent growth with no fasts.
