What type of music do you prefer?

I just thought it would be kind of cool to see all the different music choices out there.

I put other just because I listen to it all. I'm a musician and listening to everything gives you new ideas for beats and or scales so I draw my own music on a mixture of other styles if that makes sense.

I go through phases. I like almost all types of music. Right now I am into some experimental electronic music. Best music to do homework to IMO.

I listening to pretty much anything. One minute I am listening to the Bee Gees and Frank Sinatra and the next minute I am listening to the Roots and Talib Kweli.

I can stand just about every type of music but country.

Pat I definitely agree with The Black Dahlia Murder ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL day... or some Slipknot or Slayer or somethin' heavy!

I am most definitely a rock/metal kinda girl. Monster Magnet, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Marilyn Manson, Creedence, and Rammstein!

I used to be the biggest metal fan I knew, until one day I listened to one too many newer metal acts, realized they all sound exactly the same, and got bored with the entire genre. It was crazy, because it was like somebody snapped their fingers, and I went "The guitars sound like crap, the drums are boring, the bass might as well not even be there, the singers are atrocious, etc...."

I think the only two metal albums on my mp3 player are Helmet's Meantime (which after 16 years, still sounds fantastic) and Tony Iommi's solo album. The rest is a pretty eclectic mix, Ryan Adams, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Pink Floyd, Shakira, Phish, the Beatles, Mars Volta, Ani DiFranco, Peter Gabriel, U2, Yes, Rodrigo y Gabriella....

I listen to just about anything (except country)...but do so in phases right now I am listening to Alternative Industrial Rock (Marilyn Manson, Buck Cherry, Seether, etc.)

I'll pretty much listen to anything except rap and hip-hop...which borderlines the 'noise" category, IMO.

I have the most eclectic mix of music you could imagine - titles from the 'genre' section (and I'm selecting randoms because I have the 160 gig) on my ipod at the moment: Accoustic, Alt rock, Alt Punk, Avantgarde, Blues, Brit Pop, Christian Gangsta Rap, Classical, Darkwave, Disco, Drum & Bass, Electronica, Emo, Emo/Screamo, Ethnic, Folk, General Rock, Gothic, Gothic metal, Hard rock, hardcore Punk, Indie, Indie/Dance, International, Instrumental, Oldies, Pop, Pop Punk, Post Hardcore, Progressive Rock, Punk Metal, Punk Rock, Reggae, Sould and R&B, Top 40, Trance

I included some of the ones that I thought were more contradictory and entertaining... "Christian Gangsta Rap"?!?!

I think its cool how the majority of people who love snakes also love rock in its different forms!

331 gigs of music. I have a 160 gig Ipod that I hate using because it only has half my collection. You didnt put folk on the list. Folk/country or folk/rock or my favorite genre. Followed close by Blue grass and indie rock. You think my music selection is huge. I just passed the 2tb mark for movies... All I do is download.

I have my 80 G full, but the difference is, I own all the cds as well.... We have literally a full wall of media.

Like I said I love all of it but my fav would be some metal... somethin' to rock to. Black Dahlia, KillWhitneyDead, Alesana, Trivium, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera... you get the just of it.

This is a hard question.... I listen to everything. I said Blues but I listen to the whole list from top to bottom depending on my mood.

I greatly enjoy Classical music. I frequent various Baroque/chamber music ensembles in my area whenever I get the chance. One of my favorites is “i Furiosi” check them out! http://www.ifuriosi.com/

I also enjoy some Opera, traditional folk (especially Irish), and ‘new age’ music.

80s. Goth stuff and weirdness like Depeche Mode, Bauhaus, Nick Cave, Concrete Blonde, etc. Past and present tunes.. I love Morrissey and I like The Smiths' stuff, but he is better solo. And yeah, I can be a Slayer fan and a Morrissey fan.. watch me.
Metal. Slayer (YAY!); Type O Negative (though some would call them more of a gloom metal.) Others suchas Hatebreed, Cradle of Filth, I could go on. I Love Mudvayne! Slipknot; Pantera..
SOME country. Mostly the older non-gospel stuff with character; not the polished-to-a-flaw new stuff that is just too cliche for its own good. A band that embodies my idea of what country should be is 16 Horsepower with their spooky, creepy guitar sound that reminds me of rusted farm equipment and ghost towns. Leading me into rockabilly and stuff.. see, I am pretty eclectic. Southern rock; classic rock; Oldies and 80s hair metal these remind me of growing up though they are not necessarily on my CD playlists..
Oh, and Marilyn Manson!
I despise rap. I for some reason liked Tupac slightly; maybe because he just didn't give a flyin' flapjack; but he's dead, so no more rap.
