My German Shepherd Dog (DUW)

Just wanted to share some pics of my boy, Apollo, a medium coated GSD. He's a wonderful family dog but a fierce protector! I love this boy, he is my pride & joy!

What an awesome dog! Along with Dobies, GSDs are my favorite dog breed. He looks friendly but definately not a weakling!

Ginevive, i love dobies too!!!!!! my next dog will be either be another GSD(w/ imported working lines as I want to get involved in Schtz), a dobie (again w/ imported lines) or a caucasian ovcharka! As for him being friendly, he isn't lol, he's very reserved around strangers. I can bring him in public and he is a perfect gentlemen, so well behaved & trained i've had MANY people approach me asking if he was a police dog. I simply say "no, I've just trained him well" while Im completely glowing on the inside.

He isn't a friendly lick your face kinda dog to anyone but us, he's completely fine letting people pet him but you can see he could care less about it lol.

I have a couple cool pics of him showing his teeth protecting HIS trailblazer, i just dont know if it will offend anyone otherwise i'd post them. lol If you'd like to see them, I can send you a PM with a link to the pics.

ChicaPiton519, i love them to bits too! they are the best all around perfect dog in my opinion :) I'd love to see pics of your 2.

I have never had a dog but if I did this would be it. They are so gorgeous and protective. When I own a house someday I will definitely get one. I love how yours has an all black face, it's very elegant.

I had a purebread all black german shepherd that we unfortunately had to put down this last November.

Definitely the only dog worth having in my opinion!

Maizie, he's a wonderful looking! I grew up with two GSD's (pure white males) and they were amazing dogs. Absolutely fantastic with the family and big teddy bears around kids but naturally reserved and careful of strangers. At one time we had a little red daschund and funny enough, we trusted the big male Shepherd way more than that little female dog around children.

They really are a wonderful breed for the right owner. :)

icygirl thats kind of sad to me that you've never had a dog. I just recently lost (in 2004) my childhood dog named Thunder. He was a lab x German Shepherd mix and he lived to be almost 16. I can't imagine not growing up without the love of your own dog. Good luck when you get your own place and you pick out a dog as the love they give is so rewarding and unmeasurable. PS I Love his black face too! :)

V1L3 DiaL3cT I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, it is very hard to lose your best friend. I still think of Thunder and its been 4 years now since he passed. Black Shepherds are BEAUTIFUL as I am sure yours was!
