    my petunia... he es pretty.
kind of a beginner here, so dont be too hard on me...
this is my petunia.. i dont know how old he is, he was brought into petco, already pretty grown.. we were just called to take him..
he is a little over 3 feet, and i would weigh him, but he is happily soaking. :) wouldnt want to disturb him..
this is his janky home... please feel free to criticize.. i think it needs more holes, which it will get some once i can acquire a soldering gun... he's on aspen, so i feed him in a different solid tupperware.. and his hide is an over-turned litter box. ceramic kitty bowl for water... thats about it.. too small? i dont know...

he wanted to soak, obviously.. thats where he is now.. :) so i took some pics for fun...

    i es soaking...

    hold my breath...
    http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...petunia017.jpg

and new aspen.. since he got it a little wet.. :)

    whatcha think..?
i will post more pictures once he sheds... he gets much prettier.

thank you, thank you, there is heat tape under about 1/4th of the back of the tupperware... is there a better way you would suggest to heat him..?

Nope! Heat tape sounds good to me, as long as its on a good quality T-stat.

Thermostats are very important. That heat tape is going to get way to hot without one. Good thermostats are johnson controls, ranco, helix, and herpstat. I have a johnson controls and a herpstat nd. Before that, I did use the cheaper zoo med 500r with no problems (others will say that they are no good). At the least, you need to have the heat tape plugged into a dimmer switch. You can find these in the lighting department at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

You mean the heat tape is just plugged into the wall outlet?....That is a good way to have Fried Python for dinner!Unregulated heat tape can run to like 120 degrees...get a Ranco at least (like 40 or so bucks on ebay) or you can go big time and get a Helix for around $130....plug the tape into the stat and then the stat into the wall...place the probe on the tape....Set the stat to 93 and your done.

You need the tstat to control the temp the heat tape will get to. You dont want the tape to get to hot.

If the bulb keeps his ambient temps in the mid 80's, he'll be OK for a few weeks....

Nice snake!! Very cool and super reduced pattern on him... :gj:
Guess he's soaking cause he's going to shed in a few days; what's the humidity in the tub? I keep getting awesome sheds at 72%, but that's just mine!! Welcome!

Re: my petunia... he es pretty.
    thank you, thank you... :)
im not entirely sure what the humidity is at the moment... my (now ex) fiance and i just split and he took what we had to measure it, and i have yet to get something new...
glad you said that, what does everyone suggest for measuring humidity? we just had a flukers digital thing that measured temp and humidity...
i was afraid it was too humid when i had a bigger water bowl in there, the sides and top of the tub were always wet, so i put the smaller one in, and it stopped doing that, but i dont know if that means its not humid enough now..? once i get some suggestions, i will buy whatever i need to to measure the humidity.... i know its important.
and he usually sheds pretty well... but he has been kept in a rack for a while, he has been in the tub only for a couple weeks.

He has an alien head? lol just kidding I know what you mean. The alien heads I was talking about are within the pattern on alot of normals, which I think is cute, but not really rare.

and the reduced look is gorgeous for sure!
