Yes, I did. Brian is an awesome guy, and is willing to work with you. The snake is in immaculate condition, and is producing huge plugs. Brian told me he would probably breed for me the first day he got here. I have him in his tub now, and will wait a couple days before introducing him to a female.

I just put down a deposit on a Cinny pair from Brian. He really is a great guy. Mine are 07s so it will be a while before I get to try my hand at some supers:) Good luck dude!

Sort of a relaxed approach to quarantining new arrivals?

Cool, good luck with them. Supers would be awesome. I'm most likely going to pick up a female at Daytona (yea, I know, a long time..) if I don't end up getting one before that. We'll see....

I have plans for him nevet year though.

I don't see it fit. I know where he came from, and I know I don't have anything in my collection as far as even a single mite.

I quarantine anything that I don't necessarily "trust". Like the Granite female I got last week.

Yay for pewters! I have a pretty short want list. My cinnamons from Brian, my Yellowbelly from VPI which has been ordered, a spider and pastel. I'd love to get a pair of het pieds too if I can get a deal. Best of luck on the pewters!

Congrats on him! FWIW - I even quarantine animals from Adam. I think Adam once said - "I don't care if God himself handed me an animal - it gets Quarantined". I just like to play it safe, no matter who the source.

Well, he's your snake, and most likely everything will be fine. And I know that Brian has nice animals, but personally I'm more inclined to have a LONGER quarantine when buying from someone who has thousands of snakes as opposed to someone who just has a few.

I second the quarantine. My animals get 90 days minimum and if a new animal is introduced to the QT room, everyone's clock gets set back to zero and they have to start over again. (So if I have a snake that is at day 89, the new arrival goes somewhere else for one day. lol)

Nice animal though! I can't wait to add cinnamons to my collection!

just based on the fact that they have sooo many it is hard to for them to know what they might have. not saying brian has anything but it is just a good practice. i once planned on qt a new boa years ago but like a dummy i opened the box in my snake room the snake was crawling with mites. i soaked that room in pam thank god i didnt have a out break. and this snake was from the largest collection of boas in the US.

Thanks guys for all the concerns. to be honest, I have never held a "hard quarantine" unless the animal is from a pet store, or has obvious signs of something wrong.

I'm not tying to blow you off, but you know I'll do what I want to do, and Ive been doing it for about 7 years with no problems.

Good luck with that, but I'm not sure that's something that I'd admit if you hope to be selling snakes to people who find QT to be very important. :weirdface

I haven't produced anything yet, and won't for a while I'm guessing. Once my collection does get bigger though, I will start to quarantine all my snakes. That's just my aspect on it. Right now, all they really are is pets, no financial benefit for me...

Thanks. It might not be the best collection to some, but I have worked hard for what I have aquired already, and I'm working even harder for what I will soon have.

I need to update the siggy. I sold four of the six 2007 females, to help pay for my Cinny, and I have to add him.

So no "financial benefit" to you but what about the snakes? There's a pretty serious lack of a "health benefit" to them if they get exposed to something because you don't want to bother with the hassle of quarantine.

I think, whether a person has 2 snakes or 2,000 snakes, whether they ever sell a snake or not - the "benefits" ought to be first for the snake's wellbeing, secondly for your convenience.
