GOING CRAZY! Midwestern weather rant...

I always have issues with the weather in the midwest. Every winter it seems to get a little worse... winter just seems to last so long, and I get cabin fever very easily. I try to keep exercising and try to get to a tanning bed once in awhile (the depression that sets in during winter is due to a lack of sunlight... it's a vitamin deficiency that can actually be countered by working out---which releases endorphins---and tanning---ultraviolet light that the body craves). But it's been so HARD because I'm working all the time.

And to top it all off... I'm going snake crazy! I now have five babies waiting for warmer weather before they can be shipped! All five are in different locations throughout the country---and I have no doubts that all five are being taken excellent care of. But still! :taz:

Lol... I think the worst thing about it is this: because I'm waiting for everyone to arrive---and my collection at home seems so small---I just keep wanting to buy more kids! I find myself on KS all the time thinking "Wow, gotta add him to the collection!"

Anyone else having issues with this whole weather thing??? I'm seriously about to go crazy! Either that, or I'm going to end up with a whole lotta kids by the time winter's over here... :gj:

I HATE the winter in Minnesota...as soon as I finish up college I'm going somewhere with less snow.

It sounds like you're dealing with a case of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). If you can't get to the gym or tanning booth, maybe you should invest in a light box designed for SAD sufferers.

Being from Michigan things aren't fun here in the winter either:) To make matter worst I'm leaving for Minnesota in a few hours for a few days!!! I thought the weather here was bad. I had heard of SAD, but never considered myself as having it. I don't know... I don't really get depressed, per se, just antsy. I want to be outside and doing things instead of inside watching TV. I have been noticing my energy levels dropping lately---all I want to do is sleep---so I've been forcing myself on the bike at least a half hour everyday. It does help a bit.

Lol, Brian, I think Indianapolis is the Road Construction Capital of the USA! They're always working on the roads, doesn't matter the weather. I'm just glad I only live about five minutes from work instead of that hour commute I was driving... and, even then, sitting in the car with the windows down is much better than sitting in the car while snow piles on the windshield, lol.

Good luck on your trip to Minnesota! I have family up there, and honestly have no idea HOW they deal with it!

It's 30F and sunny today Brian! Don't be too down about coming here...haha!

Well, I live in texas so I can't really sympathize with ya. If it makes you feel any better though we have our own weather woes down here-freezing cold to humid and hot to stormy and then back to cold, all in the space of a week. We like to say winter fashion down here consists of wearing a wife beater and a parka! :rofl:

Lol, it's about the same here! A couple weeks ago, we had a Tornado warning and a Winter storm warning all in the same night: tornadoes ripped through town and did all sorts of damage, then we were buried by six inches of snow the next morning. Craziness!

I TOTALLY understand. I'm in the midwest too and I'm so tired of all this cold and thats unusual for me because I like the winter. I also have 2 snakes from Adam at 8ballpythons waiting to be shipped when the weather finally breaks and its driving me CRAZY!! But hopefully it's going to end soon!

i hate winter! i have no idea why I thought moving to WI was a good idea!

I love winter.

I'd rather have it overcast, gloomy, dark, rainy, snowy, windy, etc. then Sunny, and Hot. It makes me feel good. Sunny days get me bummed out. I'm glad this winter has been "long". Even though in October we had a couple of 90 degree days which isn't too common.


I do hate any form of wil temp changes, like that one time it went from 60 to a high of 5 degrees cus' I get sick.

Let's just all pray that the weather warms up enough to ship a couple kids out on Monday. Please? That might keep me happy... for a couple hours... :rolleyes:

Very emo. I hate Chicago weather more than just about everything, and I've been saying I was moving to AZ as soon as I was out of highschool. I can't stand it, It snowed 21 days out of 29 here this month. It's been between -20 and 30 degrees here for over a month. I have a few snakes waiting to be shipped too.

We already had 4inches of snow on the ground in Detroit, it snowed over night and packed on more snow..........Crazy MI weather

well I moved to Illinois from Arizona because I hate the lack of weather and the heat. I mean I hate it I wont even go back to AZ to visit I HATE it. I cant wait until I am done with college I am moving to Minnesota I love the snow. I wish it would snow more here we always get teased with 1/2 inch here and there. I love any kind of weather the most depressing thing in the world is always knowing what the weather will be sunny and HOT. God I hate AZ. sorry but I really dont know how people like it. the only way I will ever put up with heat again is if there is a beach outback.

Having lived there for the first 25 years of my life you get to see the most amazing weather in such short amount of times. I remember one day it started out in the high 60's. Sunny, warm, wonderful. By 6 that night there was 4" of snow on the ground and more falling.
About the SAD lightboxes. All the apartments in my building have them, the joys of living near Seattle.

I enjoy winter weather the first time that it snows, because it's so pretty. It just makes you want to build a fire, and snuggle on the couch with your honey, ya know? but after that it gets old fast, then I'm ready for it to be summer!

I am going insane here! My business has really picked up and I have several daily clients, but that means I am out in this crud ick.
I too have been trying the tanning/vitamins/exercise route, it isn't working. Wake me up when it is May.

It's been a crazy winter as far as weather being all over the place here in Ohio! You can't figure out how to dress your little kids to go to school or yourself to go out for the day. No wonder everyone is sick!

I personally hate winter. I just want to move to somewhere where...

- the wind won't blow my stuff away
- no big waves will come and wash my stuff away
- the ground doesn't move and knock all my stuff over

AND IT NEVER SNOWS!

Ummm...if you live in such a place....let me know please so I can move there. :D

You know, snow wouldn't bother me so much if I could just sit inside and watch it. Of course, then I would have to have my own personal gym and tanning bed... but then it'd be fine!

And Ingrid, I feel your pain... when it comes to the weather, Indy doesn't really feel that much different from Columbus...

Its a quite common thing in the winter months. It's actually recommended to supplement in the winter with a vitamin D pill, which is the one you're missing from a lack of sunlight.

I am doing the whole vitamin D in addition to my regular vitamins, and tanning. Still going :rolleye2:
