There are several avail on Target.com. I think they start as low as around $15. Just make sure you get one that goes up to the potential weight of your snakes.

I got my gram scale new off eBay for $11 and it's worked great for me for a year now, and it has a max capacity of 6kg. It came with a bowl too.

Head shops usually sell scales that weigh out in grams.

The one I went to though, their scale was top of the line and $60.

If you don't want to order a scale online you can check out major department stores like WalMart, Meijers, Target, etc. for a digital kitchen scale. Also big box stores like Sam's Club or Costco. You can also check office supply stores like OfficeMax for digital postal scales. You should expect to spend between $15 and $40 depending on the scale. Some will only go up to a certain weight. Due to the fact that I keep adult female ball pythons and boas we have the 7001DX which goes up to 7,000 grams.

I know that you don't want to send away but it is hard to beat the value of the one that I bought for $19.95 at AmericanWeigh.com and will handle ball pythons up to 11 lbs. (reads in grams or ounces) nicely and has a bowl.
