Favorite Show Snake?
If you had to pick a snake that you would show to all of your guests first what would it be? I am talking about a snake that you would leave in its tank and not let the guests hold. The snake that you could stare into its cage for hours. I know we all love our snakes every one of them. But what would be your number one show snake?

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
Any snake? It would be the Banana ball python hands down.
If your talking about the snakes that i own, it would be one of my adult normals. The lesser is great in all but he is still a baby, people like da bigger snakes if you know what i mean:D

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
I mean if somebody asked you if you could have any snake in the world what would it be?
-
Re: Favorite Show Snake?

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
Albino White Phase Tiger Retic... OR Albino Blood! :gj:
-
Re: Favorite Show Snake?
I'd say an Albino GTP. A Lav Albino Super Tiger Retic (if they exist) or an Albino Blood would be a close second and third, though.

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
Spilotes, hands down the best display snakes IMO. Big, colorful, fast, intelligent, arboreal, always moving, cool defensive displays, everything you could ask for in a display snake.

EDIT - I forgot to add that they are the fastest swallowing snake, so watching them eat is great entertainment. Everyone loves to see 3 f/t rats disappear in 15 seconds.

Look at those eyes! Beautiful.

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
Gonyosoma oxycephala (Redtail Green Rat Snake) Beautiful simplicity.

I would also say how could you go wrong with a simple Red Tail Boa or a Hog Island Boa for a display animal. Sometimes I think less is more,

there's a guy who vends at the NH expo who always has a bunch of these. Gorgeous snake and fairly well-mannered from what I can tell.

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
Well, if you're saying shoot for the moon and a snake that actually exists...then probably an eyelash viper or a gaboon viper. But I will probably never keep hots.
Now, for a snake that doesn't exist...how about a blue eyed lucy Green Tree Python? Or carpet?

Captive Bred (when you can find them) are pretty chill. Wild caught are mean as all get out. They are also full of parasites. Every time I have found some available and was ready/willing to get one they were wild caught. So I have always passed. I will probably get a CB one at some point they are just too beautiful. The CBs I have handled acted a lot like CB Taiwans or Blue Beauties. Not really happy to be handled and very much on the go but no inclination to bite. I handled a fresh import one time and he tried to remove my nose from my face, :O. Not exactly a good snake for teaching kids :snake:

Re: Favorite Show Snake?
Red tailed rat snakes. They are hard to find, but amazing to look at. Bright emerald green with clear eyes that range from green to blue, and a blue tongue with a black stripe down the center. They are not, as i like to call them, a cuddle snake. but they are interactive; they have excellent eye sight so they will watch and follow your every move. They are also colubrids, and active ones, so you can watch them climb around. Only issues are the aggression, hard to obtain, and require room.

Favorite Show Snake?
My Gaboons.
They aren't my favourite snake, but I don't think you can find a more visually pleasing snake. It's as if their design was printed.
