DOB was 4-12-07(I believe)

I can't figure it out, it seems no matter what I do to her feeding schedule, she keeps growing fast and is always hungry. I tried lowering temps in hopes that it slows her growth. DOn't want her to get big too fast

What local is she? is she a "true" redtail? I cant wait to see how big my boa is going to get long term.

beautiful animal BTW!!! what are you housing her in, what size bin? Isnt there a trick to knowing true redtail with a "Widdows peak" in their pattern?? is there a reson behind you wanting her to grow slow? how many grams is she

Thanks. thats a cb-70 tub. She is BCI as far as I know.
Boas grown too fast tend to be fatty and more unhealthy. A slow grown muscular lean boa is ideal. They will be healthier and longer lived for the most part if they are slow grown, atleast thats what I believe. Maybe Jimi can chime in here

interesting jake. thank you for that input and info.we try to feed jax appropriately for the same reasons (healthier snake)

in your cb70's do you put faux plants or anything in with them? what are their set ups like?

She is a looker~ that's for sure!! Wow, with pictures of her and Jax, I just might make it through the waiting-for-warm-weather-to-ship time frame!! Great looking snake!

Dang Jake, Can I have her back? lol. She was a big baby, if I'm not mistaken. As long as she's not getting fat or giving off runny stools she'll be ok feeding her the way you are.

lol Jimi. She has a feeding response that I can only compare to a young retic! She will come out of her tub chasing rats. Never seen a feeder like her. I'm still going to cut her back like I do with yearlings. A small every 2 weeks should keep her in check on her weight
