What Speed Internet Do You Use
I always see DUW (Dial Up Warning) for threads with videos or pictures. So I'm curious to see what type of internet speed everyone uses and if people are still on dial up.

My parents are still on dial up. As is my brother, both back in Indiana. Hard to get fast stuff in the boonies. I myself am on cable.

How is that? Right now Millenium and Verizon are fighting over rights to take over the area. I may have to switch.

I think a similar poll was done awhile back :) The consensus was: NO ONE STILL USES DIAL UP! Though I know that's not always the case. In most of my home town, we can't get DSL or Cable. I'm fortunate enough to live near a DSL station at home, but most people in the town don't. :( That's small town New England for ya!

when i had dsl---say it took 1 -2 minutes to download a song----Fios will do it in 5-15 seconds. I don't watch TV much so I don't pay for cable. {i use hd antenna} so i figured spend a little more for internet.

I have Comcasts new premier package. Its advertised at 1mb/ps up and 3mb down faster than FIOS. All I know is I have had both and dont notice a different. It's all instant.

Crap satellite. Granted, it is OK.. faster than dialup. But, they do NOT tell you that you're basically limited on how much internet you can use at one time, in one day, when you sign up. If cable came out here, I would be getting it with bells on. And if fios came out here.. I would call off of work for a month!
No phone lines are possible because we use our cells and don't need a landline, and there has not been one in this house for over a decade!

I cant believe I am only one on dial up.lol. I cant get anything else where I live although I can access the high speed at school. I still look at the DUW post I just have to be patient.

The lowest FIOS package is 5/2 (we have the 15/2). I'm thinking about the 15/15 package though, since it's only $12/mo more.
