    checking up on them
how often do you open your rack drawers and take a look at your animals?

how often do you just peek through the bins just to look at your animals, not nessesarily for the purpose of checking water/poops/exc?

    comments?

I phyisically open their bin drawers and lift hides at least once a day, checking for poops and admiring my animals too:gj:

I check on each of them a few times a day. By checking I mean opening the tub and seeing what they are up to.

That's really weird, because I posted this same exact topic 5 minutes ago on another Ball Python forum, at RC Reptiles. Seriously, freaking weird.

I check on mine at least 4 times a day. Everychance I get I take al ook at him. Mine's not in a rack though, a 20g long.

assuming I am home, twice a day (morning and night)
poop patrol, water check, temp check, attitude check
this is especially important during the low-humidity winter months when I take those two opportunities to check humidity and mist if needed.

Once a day. I check for poop, sheds, water levels, ect. If I have time during the day, I'll check in a second time.

really depends for me. Usually at least every other day if it is just a growing juvenile. If its a breeding adult, usually almost every day and couple times a day if I'm expecting eggs or an ovulation.

Twice a day one time for the fun and love of the hobby and the other for maintenance.

I usually check the snakes once a day, opening every tub.
I also check on the rodents by opening every tub and checking water and food daily.

what about if it is a new snake in its first week with you? I know you all say to leave them alone but is it okay to lift their hide to make sure they are ok?

Plainly, no. Any disturbances will only stress out the snake and make the period of adjustment longer.

I'm always checking on Foster, several times a day. But, I just look through the glass so I don't disturb her. My son will check on her daily by lifting her hide.
