Question about buying snakes from N.E.R.D
I need to know if when you order snakes from N.E.R.D, do they ship the snake to your house or do you have to go somewhere to pick it up?

They should be able to ship to your door, call or email them and I am sure they will tell you all your options for shipping.

If they ship Fedex it is delivered to your door. If they ship delta dash it is delivered to the airport.

They deliver by UPS. Does that mean I gotta pick it up at an airport?

Hey there! I just received, via air delivery, 5 beautiful NERD snakes!

UPS is home delivery also...but I didn't think UPS ships reptiles, but I could be wrong.

Re: Question about buying snakes from N.E.R.D
Theyll deliver to your house as long as someone is there to sign for it. I dont think any shipping companies will deliver live animals without someone to recieve, but then again why would you want to chance a snake sitting around in a box for too long since it could die.

FedEx Overnight to your house or Delta Dash same day to your airport.

Yes, but only lizards, no snakes.
I don't know why N.E.R.D. would ship through UPS? I'm pretty sure they do FedEx.

Really? The company I work for uses UPS and I asked one of the delivery guys and he said they won't ship any live reptiles. He could have just meant snakes (since that is what I asked him) but who knows, he didn't seem all that bright

Re: Question about buying snakes from N.E.R.D
The only way you can legally ship reptiles thru UPS is if you were doing it before they changed thier rules. Its also know as the Grandfather clause ;).I know of a few of the breeders that have been around for awhile still use UPS ;)

Re: Question about buying snakes from N.E.R.D
I'm pretty sure only FedEx does snakes. However, people will use any shipping service without ever mentioning that they are shipping snakes. I wouldn't personally, but I've heard that some people do. Also, the companies definately CAN leave the animal at your doorstep. My latest was shipped overnight with FedEx and was delayed because of weather. They told me it would come the next day, but I check my e-mail at work and see a sudden shipping update stating that the package was left at the door and no signature was necessary. Kinda lame because I wasn't expecting him until the next day and that I had to drop what I was doing and rush home to get him before he froze!

That may be true in regards to snakes, but it is actually less of a hassle to ship lizards through UPS since they changed the rules. You used to need to get a waiver to ship lizards via UPS, they have since gotten rid of the special approval process since the rule change as per their website (the excerpt was already posted above so I won't bother re-posting).
As for the whole "grandfather" clause, I think plenty of people claim they are grandfathered to ship snakes via UPS but I have never actually seen anyone come forward with documented proof of the fact.
