Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
Anyone else watching this garbage on the news today? Why is Congress wasting money investigating major league baseball?
Are these guys just getting their jollies off grilling roger Clemens just to be on TV?
Who cares, not good for them or kids to see their sports heros doing them, but not a matter for congress......

I think its a pretty big deal. I think he could have done it, but dought it. He was in the Majors for a long time, and at his age, there is a possiblity. the only way to deal with it is to go to congress...yes I watched it...I am sick.
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
I watched it to, I just don't think its a matter Congress needs to address. MLB screwed up by not caring, bring in the DEA, setup up some stings but come on......... CONGRESS has nothing better to due?
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
Its funny watching a politician calling another person a liar.

Indeed!
With all the problems facing us (war, economy, health care, terrorisim, education) congress is going after a game. Don't they already waste enough tax dollars?
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
I agree to an extent. Baseball is not just a sport we watch on TV, it is a multi-billion dollar industry. If lying and cheating were going on in other businesses, I could see Congress addressing the issue (see Enron).
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
Steroids and drug trafficking are illegal. Also the Mitchell Report was done through Congress and Clemens said it was all lies. Clemens also wanted to speak, which is why they did it.
After watching most of it live....Clemens is guilty...no doubt about it. The man couldn't answer simple yes and no questions. I think overall Clemens buried himself and if they do a federal investigation he will probably serve some jail time now.

Nope, To much money in the bank. Those type of people never get jail time.
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
those cheating peices of crap need to go down they got filthy rich off deception I hope him his wife and kids never feel comfortable in public again
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
Steriods are illegal as well as drug trafficking but so is illegal immigration, sex slaves etc... Point being is there are a lot more things that should garner their attention then these two idiots. I agree why is congress wasting their time on this? He is being put on trail without having the rights he would have had if he had been actually charged. They didn't do the whole congress deal with Micheal Vick and dog fighting (which is illegal), congress hasn't stepped in with doping in cycling nor did it step in when refs were rigging games in the NBA. It's a complete joke they waste all this money to find out one of the two guys is lying and put him jail. Not because they trafficked drugs or used the drugs, but because they lied about it. Hell half them (congressmen) should be in jail for lying.
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
This is a complete wast of time and taxpayer dollars. Yes, shame on MLB for not regulating it but thetre are bigger problems facing America today. I didn't get to watch, but from what I heard on the radio all they have as evidence is pictures of syringes. Are You Serious! Thats It!!!! How are they going to prove he is lying. What idiots!
Re: Baseball steroids Congress Investigation
How come the whole steroids thing is such a big deal in baseball but not so in say, the NFL. When Shawn Merriman was suspended for 4 games this year for steroids no one talked about him not being voted into the hall of fame (see Barry Bonds, McGuire, Clemens, etc.). All people said was oh, the Chargers dont have Merriman for 4 games now.
