    yes we can!!!
    have you seen this?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjXyqcx-mYY

    wow... how beautiful and powerful!

    Quote:

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

    Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

    Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

    Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

    Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant ........... We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

    Yes. We. Can.

Just curious, why would you want to vote for someone who wants to take the troops out of Iraq early?**IMO** I would never vote for that, all thoughs soldiers who did die, would have died in vein.

Obama is a heck of a lot better than Clinton for pres. though!

Sits back for neg rep points!

Don't worry, Obama still likes the idea of staying in the middle east. He said that as commander in chief he would remove troops from Iraq and put them “on the right battlefield in Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

I hear a lot of "yes we can's" but I never hear just how he plans to go about it.
He is more of a preacher than a politician.

Sorry but I have been around the block to many times to get sucked in by a powerful speaker. I much prefer a powerful do'er.

He doesn't have much of a record to really go by.

IMO as a proud American :salute:

The redeployment of troops into Afghanistan and Pakistan - with or without the permission of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf doesn't seem too anti-war.

They have done too much of that already. we want our money to be worth more than the peso dont we? if we barrow anymore money from china we might as well paint our flag red and kiss Independence good bye.

The war is making us weaker and more vulnerable. I am in favor of the war but we cant afford it any longer. we accomplished the mission sadam is dead now let them figure it out and when we dont like the next leader we will go back and kill him. there is nothing more to be accomplished there.

The lives of our soldiers lost are not in vein if we remain free witch spending all our resources in Iraq for 100 years( john mccain) will jeopardize that freedom.

Barack Obama has plenty of plans and good ones. We all better hope that we are smart enough as a country to elect him or we are in trouble. The Clinton's are the one's who got us into the majority of this terrorist thing by not killing osama when they had the chance. John McCain will run us into the ground fighting Wars while other countries will be the majority share holders in America and control us.

    Ok I will stop now.

Obama can't support his plans! As much as I wish he could, he can't! We really only need 1 more year in Iraq, not 100, to fix that country. Great post though.:salute:

I never once forgot about Afganistan! Afganistan is the most important war of them all. The Untied States Armed Forces can handle 2 wars, 3 is pushing it. I find it funny, that the war has gotten borring to most Americans! It is never first page news,(as it should) Brittany Spears is. That really drives me crazy. Great thread!

I'm voting for John Mccain if Hillary is the democratic nominee without a doubt , I'm a republican and will admit to liking some of what Obama is saying, if he is there nominee it will make it a little tougher for me. Stangs there not leaving Iraq til its stable the rest is just talk thats it, I'll go as far as to say we will always have troops there in much smaller numbers of course

We've been in South Korea for 52 years as the front line between 1 million North Korean troops. What he meant was there will always be an American presence in Iraq trying to make sure it's a beacon in the middle east. I think he's the only canidate that is being realistic and honest on Iraq, even if a democrat wins the white house we will not leave Iraq its too risky. It's also too risky for some to tell the truth when the white house is up for grabs.

There are between 20,000 and 27,000 troops in South korea's demiliterized zone to this day 50 years later.
