Re: Ufc 81
Like Dana White said, "if he can make the switch to the UFC, he has the potential to be the best fighter in MMA"
-
Re: Ufc 81

Re: Ufc 81

Re: Ufc 81

Fainting Goat

Re: Ufc 81
I think he will do better in the future. I was just happy I got to meet Nog a week before the fight.

Re: Ufc 81
As they mentioned it all came down to experience. Even Mir said he could have pulled out of that leg lock if he'd had a bit more time under his belt.
Up until the point of the leg lock he was doing very well both technically and physically, so I am actually looking forward to seeing where it goes in the future.

Re: Ufc 81
I just watched it on youtube, i cant believe they took a point off for hit the back of the head with no warning! Mazagatti is usually a good ref too, but i didnt like that!
-
Re: Ufc 81
HAHAHAHA... Yeah that bugged me... What bugged me was Mir whining, "He hit me in the back of the head" which was what made the ref call it.
I didn't see the youtube version, so I don't know if it was as audible as on a surround sound... But... Wow... BABY...
I wasn't sure I liked Mir... But that just made me really not like him... Pull the tough guy thug act, then when you accidentally get hit by a shot to the back of the head whine to the ref for a time out...
With a little experience on Brock's part things like this won't factor in... If that call hadn't been made he might have been the one to have it in under a minute and thirty.

Technically no. Physically yes. He had tons and tons of energy, but almost no technique. Sloppy side control, no attempt what so ever at mount, no hip control, and a flurry of hammer punches on a fresh fighter isnt going to knock him out. He got a lousy call with that point deduction, but the ankle lock was a noob mistake. In fact, when you are learning BJJ and performing a leg lock, they have your opponent leave himself open in the same manor. it was dynamic to say the least. Im looking forward to see what he does in the future. He has had better fights.

Re: Ufc 81
I agree Noel. He was being a bulldozer, and not using teqhnique.
-
Re: Ufc 81
Well... He way way more technical than I was expecting, so I do give him credit there.... I was thinking he'd walk in all WWF greased up and try to body slam Mir or something.

Re: Ufc 81
lol you guys see the UNDERTAKER in the croud

Re: Ufc 81
Brock will take a lot more time to be MMA ready.
He needs to know that power is not everything. Talk to Hoyce Gracie. IMO the best MMA in his prime. No wieght classes and only 3 rules....................

HAHAHAHAH! FAINTING GOATS! i have never heard of them.....man thats funny!
you come up with some crazy stuff! :gj:

Re: Ufc 81
i think he has good side control. really strong. nice takedowns. if he continued to ground mir, he would've won the fight. very very good wrestling background. but he just lacks experience in mma. he's had only 1 fight prior to this one. and if you watch his previous fight, he just mounted the guy and tee'd off. he didn't get much experience from that fight. he needs to train more against bjj guys. he needs to be more technical against bjj locks. but aside from that he has a very good ground and pound game. he is legit.

Re: Ufc 81
he has won the National Collegiate Athletic Association's individual heavyweight wrestling championship.so technique wise, he is up to par with the best of them. just needs more experience in mma.
-
Re: Ufc 81
and you cant take anything away from Mir. he broke tim sylvia's arm,is a bjj black belt and was the UFC heavy weight champion
